Atlas SoundMicrophone Stand, Ebony

Bought this after much searching. I initially looked at this stand due to the flat base, then the color grabbed me. The price seemed right, so I ordered it. My only wish is that it had shipped Prime. But it arrived after about five business days--and when I lifted the box, I was surprised how light the big shipping box was. It was heavily taped, and when I cut the tape and opened the box I was greeted by much industrial-grade bubble wrap. Within all that bubble wrap was a smaller angular blue Atlas Sound box that was also somewhat heavily taped closed. This smaller Atlas Sound box seemed heavier, and opening it I felt like a kid at Christmas. Within the Atlas Sound box were only two items, both wrapped in plastic sheathing--the base, and the pole. After removing both items from the sheathing, I examined the threading on both items and found the threading to be free of burrs. The threads were also very precise, clean, and neat. I inserted the pole into the base, turned opposite the threads until I felt a very slight pop, then turned the correct way and the threads engaged very, very smoothly. After rotating to completion and ensuring a lock, the assembly was complete!My Shure Beta 58a clip mounted flawlessly to the threads on the MS12CE without any adapter needed. It's a match made in heaven for me, and I cannot wait to use it on stage.

Like stands I used have. Not plastic. Heavy base and boom portion. Solid construction.

A little expensive, but heavy duty. Cast iron base, positive non-slip grip adjustment. Much better than cheaper stands. If you have a good mic, use a good stand to support and protect it.

Purchased for our 5 and 6 yr old grand-daughters to perform a little karaoke.
