Bought for the radio hits, continue to play for the whole thing!
I have to say, I sort of adore this album.I purchased it because I've come to learn that an album with multiple great hits on the radio just has to be all-around great, right? This totally is. Took a little bit for me to get into a couple of the songs, but they're all pretty catchy and I could definitely play through all the songs without skipping. Many of the songs have bits reminiscent of older FOB songs, so if you liked those older songs, it's easy to become hooked to many of these songs as well.Like I said, I purchased this based off of the two songs playing on the radio: Centuries and Uma Thurman. I love both of these songs so much. The moment I heard them on the radio, I was hooked. It was the mix of playful lyrics and the incorporation of Tom's Diner and the Munsters' theme song that got me. I loved the Munsters, so anything incorporating that theme song is going to have a bit of an advantage with me, and I don't know why, but Tom's Diner always makes me think of I Dream Of Genie and Bewitched, so again, points added here.Irresistible is catchy, not a favorite on the album, but it's got me singing along.I love FOB's up beat, faster paced songs, but I also adore their slower songs. The Kids Aren't Alright had me hooked pretty quick. The chorus is so pretty sounding. "And in the end, I'd do it all again, I think you're my best friend~" I love it! However, Jet Pack Blues is my absolute FAVORITE track on this album. It's got a slightly dark undertone to it which I LOVE. The hook into the chorus is beautiful as well. I never know how to describe this, but I love when a song works its way up and down a scale (Melodic scale?), rather than what we mostly hear on radio today, where the singers generally stay within a small range, then hit up a higher note or two for the chorus (does this make sense?). "She's singing baby come home in a melody of tears while the rhythm of the rain keeps time." This line, and the couple leading up to it are what make me want to put just this song on repeat. The flow of this portion, in addition to the lyrics (beautiful line!), and the harmony on it just kind of makes me melt.I'm not a big fan of the intro to Novicane, but as another reviewer mentions, once it lightens up, it's actually pretty good. "If you knew what the blue bird sang at you, you would never sing along~" is my favorite part for this particular song.Fourth of July is a nice song with a summery feel. It's fairly up beat, but the lyrics come a bit slower. "You and I were fire, fire, fireworks~ that went off too soon" is definitely the catchiest part of the song. And not an irritating "god why are you stuck in my head" kind of catchy. My favorite line though is "I'm sorry every song's about you... The torture of small talk with someone you used to love."Favorite Record is not quite up beat, but it's not really that mellow. It's one of those songs with loooots of repetition. "Do you do, do you remember how we drove, we drove, drove through the night..." is just the very beginning of the song, but it's a definite theme throughout the whole thing. It's pretty catchy though, and it's got a pretty different sound from most of their other songs, which adds a bit to the charm.Immortals is another addictive song. It does have a bit of an asian sound in the background. Not overpowering or anything, it blends in pretty well to the beat. Nothing in particular stands out to me in this song, it's pretty uniform in its catchiness, so it's harder for me to fixate one any one part.Twin Skeletons is another catchy one with a bit of a darker tone. Nothing that really stands out, but a pretty solid song. The only song I'm still a little displeased with is the title track, American Beauty/American Psycho. The song itself is good for the most part. What bothers me about it is the "Woooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-oooh's." They're a bit obnoxious. Also, they remind me of something I can't pinpoint, but I know whatever it is, I didn't like. Other than that, I kind of like the song. I just can't get past the woah's that come up again and again in the song.

American Beauty
The media could not be loaded. First off, the album leans MUCH more towards pop/mainstream flair, further away from the hard'ish/rock/grunge/alternative-while-melodic style they were so VERY good at in their earlier albums. This doesn't mean that it isn't creative, at all. I think it is probably their most creative sounding album yet. If I had never heard their earlier stuff and LOVED it so much, I would probably LOVE this album, on different merits. But I bring into the new album all the expectations I had from their previous stuff. I have had to pull myself away from my expectations to allow myself to really enjoy the album for what it is, a very good, creative album. Finally, something that really stands out to me is his voice. I felt that his voice sounded so much more studio and polished, and quite frankly is one of the biggest reasons I loved their previous sound. It is a completely different sound to his voice on this album.

Fall Out Boy, all grown up
This album is great. If you still think of Fall Out Boy as that band that sings about the kind of feelings you tend to have as a teen/adolescent, you need to get with the times. They are still good at all the things they've always been good at - catchy songs that make you dance and sing along - but the lyrics are more mature. And they still do that wonderful thing where they have an upbeat sounding song, paired with lyrics that house darker emotions. You've almost surely heard the epic "Centuries," as it was everywhere from the radio to football to WWE for a while there, but the rest of the album is totally solid, end to end. I get virtually every song on this album stuck in my head, particularly the intro song "Irresistable" and "Jet Pack Blues," which isn't actually about jet packs. And just try to fight the urge to dance to "Uma Thurman." The album version does not contain any of Wiz Khalifa lamenting his recently-ended relationship.

Beautiful Vinyl, Great Album, Sadly has a scratch on it
The media could not be loaded. FOB is one of my favorite bands of all time but towards the end of American Beauty/American Psycho it skipped around and it skipped around Centuries. I don’t blame anyone cause things happen, I just hope to get a replacement that’s perfect.

GREAT STUFF!!!
I love this band. Before Big Hero 6, I had never heard of them. After Immortals came out, and I fell in love with the song, I went out of my way to make it my mission to track down every song they have ever written. This album is fantastic. They have a sarcastic innocence and a way of writing both catchy and dark lyrics that makes them worthy of a listen. They are a band that crosses generational lines, and adults and kids can both enjoy (my 11 yo son and his friends all very much enjoy these guys as well, for much different reasons). It's nice to not have to argue about what we listen to in the car, or have to pull the "I'm the driver, we will listen to what I want to listen to XD." Of course, there is always Imagine Dragons as a back up. :)

Perfect and gorgeous
I bought three records in an order. A Queen "Night at the Opera", A Green Day "Father of All" and this one. This one was by far my favorite one. The disc was absolutely gorgeous and a pale ice blue with a marbling affect to it. This is my favorite fall out boy album and I am very satisfied with the sound quality and visual appearance of this vinyl.
