Pureline Tongue Cleaner Scraper Oralcare Color Vary, Set of 3

My last one of these Tongue Cleaners from Pureline Oralcare finally broke after 3 years of daily use, and so without any hesitation, I went ahead and purchased this 3-pack. After having used various tongue cleaners of slightly different designs and materials for most of my life, this particular one has the perfect design in my opinion.It is small enough that it fits into your mouth easily, but it is also large enough that you can clean your entire tongue in 4-5 scrapes. It is "sharp" enough that it can actually scrape your tongue effectively, but it is not sharp to the point that it will tear up your tongue. It is purposefully designed with a slight bend or angle which makes it more effective when scraping your tongue compared to other tongue scrapers.The only knock against it is its durability. Since it is made of plastic rather than metal, over time it will develop a slight crack somewhere along the U-shaped surface and likely near the horizontal bar. This is because it constantly exhibits some amount of strain when you are using it and applying downward force onto your tongue. Once this crack begins to form, it will break in a matter of days at that weak point. However, it takes a very long time for this failure mode to occur--my first Tongue Cleaner lasted 4+ years, my second one lasted 2+ years, and my third one lasted 3+ years. I realize that this sounds pretty variable, but even at a 2 year lifetime, The Tongue Cleaner is well worth the cost of $4-6.Therefore, I still feel that this product deserves a 5-star rating, and this is also why I purchased this 3-pack this time--I should have enough to last the next 6-9 years.

First off, if you've never used a standalone tongue cleaner, I would definitely recommend you to pick one up regardless of which it is. Tongue cleaners should be standard in households but they are not, at least from what I've seen. The back of your toothbrush sometimes has a tongue cleaner but I have found nearly all of them to be quite ineffective as they don't scrape hard enough. Using the actual brush side is pointless as well. If you aren't convinced about buying a tongue cleaner, go to Wikipedia or any reputably sourced info webpage to see the benefits of cleaning your tongue properly, you will be astonished.As for this product itself, this has to be by far the best buy on Amazon for tongue cleaners; you get 3 for a very reasonable price. While one may think, why am I paying for 3 simple plastic molded tools, I believe that these scrapers are designed perfectly for most tongues. Plus, your spouse/children can have their own since obviously you get the 3 (however, I can shamelessly admit that my wife and I share just one and we gave the other two away to friends who were interested in trying them out). There are no special features really to talk about as it is really a very efficient and simple design which does exactly what it is supposed to. The scraper fits our tongues like a glove and really does a great job scraping the whole width of our tongues in each pass. Since the scrapers are wide compared to some other tongue cleaners, it doesn't really make you gag even if you reach a bit far back, however, you may still gag from time to time, that is only natural for most people. The length of the cleaner is just right as well, I have no problem reaching far back on my tongue without needing to put my hand inside my own mouth.Definitely a very good deal. Perhaps if you really only wanted just a single cleaner there might be a more cost efficient product on Amazon with a similar if not the same design, however, with this deal, you would at least be able to have 2 backup cleaners which is always nice.

I’m obsessive about my oral hygiene. I went through a phase years ago where I purchased & tried just about every tongue scraper on the market. At the end of the day, I loved this one because the scraping action is fantastic AND because it gets waaaay back to the root of my tongue without gagging me. I’m not sure why this is, I just know that most others gag me. The reason the scraping is so good is because the “blade” is nice and “sharp.” I mean, it’s plastic...it’s not slice-your-tongue sharp, but when I pull it forward, from back to front, across my tongue’s surface, it really “bites” into the grooves of my tongue and scrapes well. I keep one of these in the bathroom, one in my travel bag, one in my backpack...you get the idea. I should mention that because I press hard when I use these, I do tend to break one every year or so. No biggie. I buy a three-pack and I’m good again for a while. I should mention, too, that I also really like the GUM brand dual action scraper for different reasons. That one & this one really compliment each other and I use them both sequentially.

I first purchased one of these at Wal-Mart a few years ago. It worked beautifully. After a good bit of use, the handle finally broke, and Wal-Mart had stopped carrying them in the stores. I ordered a GUM brand tongue cleaner through Wal-Mart's site to store for pick-up. I did not like the GUM brand at all. Firstly, it is flexible, so it does not clean very well. Secondly, it has a much smaller head, and I was constantly gagging myself with it. So, I ended up ordering a three pack of the Pureline Tongue Cleaner. The Pureline still cleans the best as the head it wide and it does not flex, so scraping is much more effective. The plastic seems stronger than my old Pureline Tongue Cleaner, too, so I expect these will last me much longer. One thing I was not pleased about was that I could not chose the colours. I ended up with a green one which I do not like at all, but it still functions the same. It would be nice to be able to choose the colours one is to receive. After all, if I were purchasing these in a store, I would choose the colours I like best.

This is the only tongue scrapper shape I purchase. I have recommended and gifted this scrapper to others. I was disappointed in my last purchase as the scraper is sharp on my tongue. I need to be careful when using it. It does get the gunk out of my mouth and does the job better than other shapes, but I hope the others I bought are not too sharp.

Completely changed my oral health game!I brush 3 times a day (I'm prone to cavities). I always got my teeth, gums, inside of the cheeks, tongue, everything. However, my brother told me about a tongue scraper so I bought one and oh my goodness, my tongue has never felt cleaner or healthier. My breath stays fresh longer. So much gunk gets scrapped off my tongue that my brush just never got. I finally started seeing the "pink" hue of my tongue rather than the white I always used to see.Highly recommend to everyone!
