Well-made, fits over a low bun, comfortable
Years ago, I had a well-made terry-lined shower cap that I absolutely loved. Wore it for years - until it fell apart. For whatever reason, I started buying the unlined versions and they’re just not the same. And I suspect all terry lined ones aren’t the same either. This company, Betty Dain, has been in the business of making shower caps for many decades. So, I decided to give one a try. And once again, I’m in love with my shower cap. The terry cloth lining keeps moisture out. It’s nice and snug around my hairline so my hair doesn’t get wet. I have hair that’s just below my shoulders and for showering, pull it up into a low bun and the cap easily accommodates the bun and there’s plenty more room. And the print on the cap is subtle and pretty - and grownup (unlike many) - which I really appreciate (and my husband does too. Haha) Shower caps can look a little goofy, but this one actually looks nice. TIP: Some people have had their terry cloth shower caps develop a mildew odor after a while. I’ve been able to avoid that by doing this: as soon as I get out of the shower, I dry off the exterior - the plastic shell - using a towel, paying particular attention to where the plastic bunches up at the elastic. I find a microfiber towel works best. Then, with the exterior dried, I turned the cap inside out and hang it on a hook so that terry cloth is on the outside. It takes less than a minute, and I’ve not had mildew or any bad odors appear - and I live in humid Florida where my bathroom fan faces an uphill and losing battle every time I take a shower. Even with the fan and house AC, the room gets a little steamy. Which is why I had to devise that little trick.

Works perfectly for my hair thickness, length and style
I've tried a number of different shower caps to keep my hair dry on the days when I don't shampoo my hair. I have thick, shoulder length hair with just enough curl that it gets frizzy when it's humid. I also have very carefully styled bangs that it's a pain to restyle. First I tried a Luxury Shower Cap, the turban-style with the bow on the front and it made a complete mess of my bangs. Then I tried a satin-lined cap that was a little too small, smelled like toxic waste until I washed it a bunch of times and worst of all, the water soaked into the edges of the satin. This meant that the satin lining got wet and made my hair wet. Exactly what I didn't want to happen! This Betty Dain Socialite Collection cap is perfect. It has enough room for my hair, doesn't squash or mess up my bangs and doesn't smell like toxic waste. The edge of the cap, where the terry lining is sewn to the nylon shell is bound with a separate waterproof fabric, so water doesn't get absorbed by the terrycloth lining. Yes, the elastic is *tight*. It has to be to keep water from wicking up under the edges of the cap. Yes, it will leave quite a mark on your forehead, but that will fade, and in my case, the mark is hidden under my bangs. And honestly, if you don't have bangs I'd go for one of the turban-style caps with the bow on the front because the elastic is not as tight. But for hair like mine this cap is just right!

Best shower cap ever
I have long, thick hair, and regular shower caps end up leaving it damp around the edges and generally frizzy. This cap is such high quality. It easily contains all of my hair and keeps it totally dry and frizz-free. Even better, it actually keeps my waves and curls perfectly intact. The terry liner seems to really help. Love it!

lasted 3 years
bought this back in 2021 so it lasted 3 years the elastic came loose recently idk how but now it won’t stay on my head but I’m happily repurchasing it was only $9 and I got a ton of use out of it and it held all my hair which is past my butt and always kept it dry I like how the inside is like a towel and it’s super cute so I don’t mind having to replace it, I tried to add a pic but it won’t upload

Love this shower cap
I thought I would write a review about this cap. It is everything you want in a shower cap. Fits any hair length because it is roomy. Waterproof. And the elastic is great. Not tight not to loose. I would think if you have a lot of thick hair the elastic might not sit as tight on your head because of the bulk. I have had this cap for 4 years and the elastic just broke on it so I think I got my money's worth and will order another one.

Long lasting shower caps
These are the best shower caps! I’ve had one shower cap for several years! They really last and last. I don’t buy any other brand.

Quality has gone down
I’ve ordered this shower cap 6 times! I love it but eventually the inner terry lining gets a bit mildew-smelling so I replace it. I’ve never minded that as I usually can go 9 months without replacing. My most recent replacement was ordered a week ago and, strangely, the elastic was very loose and didn’t stay close to my head/keep out water. This has never happened before and I get that manufacturing and quality control can be imperfect. I just let Amazon know and I was offered a replacement. I received the replacement today, expecting a normal-fitting, good quality shower cap—unfortunately, it’s the same enormous elastic piece and not snug to my head AT ALL! Disappointed as I loved this shower cap.

Best shower cap ever!!!
This is by far the best shower cap! I have bought four so far. I like to have them roll my washrooms and I even give them out as gifts. Big enough to put all your hair. Covers the nap of your neck so you don’t have wet patches of hair coming out of the shower. Easy to wash in the washer. Do not dry in the dryer. Well crafted. Good quality. Very satisfied. Bid, you won’t regret it. Only shower cap you’ll ever need.

High quality, roomy shower cap
This is the second shower cap I've had from Betty Dain. I originally bought the leopard print one (not really my style but not many choices at the time) quite a few years ago and it's served me very well since - it started to smell musty at one point so I put it in the wash and it came out fine. The elastic finally went on one side so I replaced it with this one. This cap was slightly more expensive than others in the range at the time but I much prefer the design over my previous leopard print one. It's quite girly - pink with French themed illustrations of the Eiffel Tower, flowers, beauty essentials and French text. The best part about these shower caps is the size - I only have mid-length fine hair but I tie it up in a bun and it's so roomy, the back of my head has never gotten wet while wearing these caps. I imagine it's suitable for most hair types as it's really generous in size compared to most shower caps I've tried. The elastic is quite tight (especially compared to my ageing old one) so it doesn't let water in, for a quick shower it's fine, but I used it while having a lengthy bath and ended up with lines on my forehead! The towelling inside is ideal as unlike plastic lined caps, there's no condensation / that sweaty feeling when wearing it. I'd 100% recommend Betty Dain shower caps and would replace mine again if the elastic goes again. They look and feel high quality so hopefully this one will also last me for years to come.
