The thing is easy to use. Picks up debris very well and quickly. However, it came with no instructions and I have no idea how it opens so I can clean it out. I’ve tried pressing on various areas, sliding it, removing the brush and even prying it open. Nothing. I know if I pull harder it will break. So, I just shake the dust out the best I can…not ideal

This isn't going to pick up really small stuff like an actual vacuum would, but it does a relatively good job on larger things like food crumbs, at least on carpet or floor mats. It's not really well suited to use on smooth surfaces as there is not enough friction for the brush to roll. There is also no easy way to open it so that it can be emptied. I ended up cutting a notch in one of the sides to provide a leverage point for separating the halves.

I liked that this product picks up dirt.

This review is especially for the visually impaired because this product is an example of why we should take more advantage of amazon's graciously provided disability customer support line. There is no way to understand what you are buying with this unless someone describes it and if I had taken that extra step I would not be holding this flimsy and totally ineffective product that is about the size of a glasses case for those of us who are not able to see a picture of it. This was not at all what I was expecting and I wouldn't be so mad if I had only paid a couple of bucks for it, but $9.45 is ridiculous. If this works for some people I am amazed, but for me I could pick up the stuff I tried to sweep up more efficiently as I did with this so please... When in doubt about a product, call the customer support line an get someone to describe the product for you and save yourself the aggrivation of buying something and either returning it or having to throw it away. I haven't done this with a couple of products now and have finally gotten it through my head that it will be better for both me and amazon if I do so in the future.

I am bedridden with a chronic pain illness. So my bedroom (and my bed) have become grand central station in my home. Kids and hubby climb in and out of my bed all the time to cuddle or show me things or hang out or even eat with mom (me). This means crumbs crumbs crumbs and it was driving me nuts. I felt like I was constantly trying to wipe crumbs out of my bed...or at least clear a spot in the sheets for me to lie down in. Hmmm...that just didn’t sound quite right. Anyway, out of desperation i literally typed in google, “best way to get crumbs off ur bed.” And voila! I found this gadget. So naturally I then “Amazoned” it, and two days later I anxiously tore the wrapper off and began vacuuming my bed. I was a little dubious about a non battery or electrical gadget actually cleaning my bug bait up, but beggars can’t be choosers, right? And Oh wow! Crumbs began to disappear! The best part? Bc I wasn’t just dumping them back on the floor where people would smuggle them back into my bed when they stepped on them, I could now rest in peace knowing that at least THOSE crumbs would be gone forever and ever. Best bed crumb exterminator ever! Beats a rag or my hand trying to wipe crumbs away (btw u ever notice how when u use ur hand to wipe crumbs off ur bed they just seem to jump around and resettle somewhere else instead of getting neatly swept away? Ugh!)

It worked "sweeping" up crumbs, but I couldn't pop it open to empty said crumbs no matter how hard I tried or how many different ways I tried to pry it open. I hate to throw it away, but at least it was cheap.

I didn't have high expectations for this, but for just over $8, I thought it was worth a try. I recently started fostering mama cats and kittens. The mama cat I currently have kicks cat litter all over the place, even with a high-sided litter box. Running a big, loud vacuum in a small room with an already timid mom cat and her babies is not an option right now, so I needed another solution. When this arrived, I really thought I had wasted my money. However, upon using it, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it picked up litter off the carpet! It pops open easily, and I can just dump the litter back into the box. It also works well to clean up crumbs around the cat food bowl. The best part, mama cat wasn't bothered at all by me using it! I haven't tried using this on a hard surface yet, but it definitely works on carpet. This was a much better and affordable solution for me than buying a $25+ manual sweeper.
