Great product, Great fit, would recommend

As many other reviewers have said, removing the old igniter is the hardest part of the job. The igniter box that sits behind the control panel is a piece of cake. The spark plug - looking thing is impossible to get out. Given how simple it is, and how accessible (once you remove all the other components inside the grill), it's a much bigger job to remove it than it has any right to be. I ended up cutting it out with a dremel, then drilling the stuck part out of the hole, then using a hammer and screwdriver to pound it out, followed by a final dremel to grind the ID of the hole in the grill and clean it up for the new one to fit.I have never replaced this part in 16 years of grill ownership, so it's not too surprising that it was stuck in there so firmly...With the old part out, installing the new one took less than 5 minutes. The only tricky part is that there is no "spark" and "ground" marked on the igniter box, so you have to guess which wire goes where. You have a 50% chance of getting it right the first time, and if you're wrong, it's 3 seconds to switch them.Once installed, the unit works perfectly. I'm back in the grilling business!

Excellent original part replacement

We love our broilmaster grill and needed a new igniter switch, etc. The parts arrived timely and packaged well. It takes a bit of time to remove everything from inside the grill to install the new parts, but it is so worth it. When installing, you need another person to hold the bracket in place while you tighten the screws underneath so the bracket doesn't turn. Very pleased...wood order again!

Fit and function was all as advertised. Can probably find a less expensive version, but this seemed to be OEM packaged product and it did fit and work exactly as hoped. Note on installation. At least on my grille, the ignitor portion was rusted in fairly well and I had to cut it out. Took a bit of time, but that was on the grille, not on the new ignitor. Good product.

I had a devil of a time getting the old one out but installing this one was easy. Now the grill lights immediately. Better than when it was new!

First, let me say I ordered this kit because the wiring from my old igniter got too hot and melted onto my gas line, causing a hole in the gas line and shooting flames!. Turns out this was the wrong kit - the igniter has a long screw stem on it rather than the short one my grill requires - BUT this is actually a much better design because it keeps the wiring well away from the heat! So, I modified my grill by drilling out an already-existing hole in the bottom to fit the screw stem. I'm very happy to report it works well and solves the original design flaw for my grill.

Works as expected. Doesn't always fire, but it seems to have to do with moisture in the grill area. Had to enlarge the hole for it to fit, and mine came with a chrome surround retainer, not black as pictured. Doesn't go with rest of grill I restored. Beats the loud banging of the original one I guess.
