24K Gold ~ Elegant Desserts & More
I’ve used 24K gold leaf flakes on food and in soap as I bake and have been soap crafting since 1998. I’m always on the lookout for unique additives and 24K gold is not only unique but it makes the soap shine more than if I’d added glitter.I know that soap crafters usually work in a well-ventilated environment. When working with real gold flakes you’ll need to have a draft-free area. Otherwise, you’ll be picking up tiny gold pieces off the floor and counter. When adding to soap, it’s best to put the flakes in the mold and slowly pour the cooling off soap into the mold. The temperature should be around 120 degrees Fahrenheit. You’ll know that the [melt and pour] soap base is at the best temperature when it’s just starting to form a skin. When poured, there should be enough time to move around any gold flakes and/or add a few more. I’ve found using a toothpick or chopstick works well.NOTE: DON’T melt gold in a microwave. The manufacturer has this as a warning for a very good reason! For cupcakes, I recommend using a toothpick to pick out each flake and gently add it to the frosting. The frosting should be fresh so it’s easier to apply.

Golden stars, golden everything!
This is a really nice product.I'm new to this, and find that it applies just like the YouTube videos portray.Using this culinary grade product in home cooking, fancy desserts & beverages. Not everyday thing! But for extra special occasions this has been a fun impressive detail. I've already purchased another container!

When you open the jar it does NOT look like the picture
Ok...When you open the jar it does NOT look like the picture. The flake sorta static clinged to the side so maybe that's why, but I could have easily also been cheated out of my gold flake. I don't really know, but I think next time I'll purchase edible gold leaf in sheet form. Still looked beautiful on a flourless chocolate cake, but I would have used more if there didn't seem to be such a scant amount in the jar. It wasn't too expensive at least.

I love this product
I love this product. The jar is not filled completey which is fine with me due to the product being sold by weight. I use separate jars for numerous different things, this item makes any product look fancy.

I love the fact that it is in flakes form
I love the fact that it is in flakes form. It eliminate the trouble you face with gold sticking to your tools while trying to peel it off from the sheets .Only challenge I face here with the flakes are since its so light ,while picking up one flake the other flakes tend to fly out of the container.

I would choose or prefer gold powder instead!
Aside from looks, gold tastes very slightly metallic. It's edible, real gold. It's so light that when a ceilingfan is running in the house, the leafs will blow away.It kind of melts in the mouth. I am not sure the body absorbs it, but if it does, it does very little, as gold isn't affected by stomach acidity.I recommend people to eat a leaf every few other days, to maximize gold intake. You probably will poop out 90% of the leaf anyway.Gold is considered to improve neural network, and is non-toxic.If they had powder, I would go with that for food! The picture shows a can full of gold, but in reality it's only 10% full (90% empty), and very expensive for what it's worth!
