Review: Good buy, however - Pros - Easy set up - Fits plenty of media - Stable - Good all round filter Cons - In my opinion it is slightly too loud for bedroom use, you will hear a quiet loud humming noise (my hearing is good so take my word). However I have tried my best to fill up my cabinet under the tank to try muffle the sound as much as possible but it’s still somewhat loud. - Inlet and Outlet tubes are too thick for a Fluval Roma meaning you will have to either cut into your Lids or the plastic frame on the tank... - Both tubes can tap on glass or wall through the vibration of the canister so a few extra suctions cups thrown in would be handy. - Should include a Fluval Spray Bar Side note: If you have anything under a 200L tank do not buy the 407 because even at the lowest outflow setting it will be too powerful for fish that prefer slow moving water like Betta’s. I have just about got the right flow for my 200L by including a spray bar and having the outflow at the lowest setting.

Very quiet, able to have more filter media in and can adjust the flow. Urmston aquatics are a great LFS and if you live close they are great for buying fish from but bought the filter off them through desertcart as this was cheaper than in the shop!!! **Q: Is this more poweful than the 406? My 406 is struggling with my 300l tank!**
A: I have a 350l tank and noticed my 406 was struggling, I was doing 10-15% water changes weekly and a full filter maintenance and 50-60% water changes every 6-8 weeks. I did a bit of online research and most utube and online advice believe that the actual fluval flow rate is tested media free and without any bio load. So actual capacity you should half what the manufacturer stated. On that basis I ordered a second filter ( I have a community tank big stock of fish) the water is much better with two filters.

**Q: What size are the brackets ?**
A: 1L baskets. Brackets are enough to install on anything.

**Q: Is this fine with small fish, fry and shrimp? Thank you**
A: The filter itself wouldn't effect them but if you didn't change the inlet cover for something with a finer grill or a large sponge you would risk them getting sucked into the pumps mechanism.

**Q: Hi, are there two hoses and what is the length?**
A: 8 ft once cut in half have plenty of hose for both

Got this as an upgrade on the stock filter supplied with our 240L tank and can only say the improvement is amazing. Very quiet, able to have more filter media in and can adjust the flow. Urmston aquatics are a great LFS and if you live close they are great for buying fish from but bought the filter off them through Amazon as this was cheaper than in the shop!!! Definitely recommend the filter and the seller!!!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent pump just louder than expected

So the 407 is a powerful pump it comes with all the plumbing and media, however I changed the bio media in mine as there is so much capacity and so little provided. Its been up and running for a few months now in my planted tank so I took it apart yesterday and must add I didn't need to, the mechanical media was in good shape and I just rinsed and put it all back together. I'm running a 150L tank and have it running at 50% flow is really good. The only negative is it's a little loud but for a big pump it's not intrusive.
