Value and Performance
I bought the speakers to replace a pair of KEF Coralle speakers that were bought in the late 80’s that needed new surrounds. The repair shop recommended replacing the crossover as well as the surrounds. I bought the Micca taking a chance on the reviews from Amazon and YouTube. I drive the speakers with a 20watt Class A amplifier. The sound for vocals is very good plus! Though the bass is somewhat limited, it is accurate and dynamic. Midrange is very good especially on non electronic music. Vocals are very good. Had some difficulty in placing the speaker for imaging, but once a good location was found the image amazingly for image and sound stage. They are amazing for the price, size and enjoyment! Using a Burmeister 933 Chinese Clone amplifier with 120 watts per channel it is even more than dynamic with more extended range. For me it’s an amazing value as repairs to the KEF’s were close to $300.00. The KEF’s are no slouch, but these give it a dang good run. Amazing for the price!

Ultimate Bargain Speaker
After reading a review of these on Audio Science Review (best A/V data on the planet!) I thought they would be just what I needed in my toy hauler. The review was great, but honestly I was STILL a bit shocked when I connected them to an amp, fed them some music, and listened. It is hard to fathom HOW these little speakers can sound so good, but they simply do!Even the low frequency response (which DOES benefit from an appropriately sized subwoofer) is surprising for something so small. Listening for a few hours (set them up out in the driveway working on motorcycles!) showed them to be accurate and non-fatiguing. The only TINY complaint that I can make is that as a small bookshelf speaker, I would have thought they would have a 1/4" threaded insert to aid mounting. I will fab a couple of mounts in my toy hauler when I finish a coupe of other mods.In this time of spiraling inflation, electronics are about the only thing decreasing in price. Yet here are a pair of speakers, obviously built with very inexpensive parts to hit this price point, that have amazing accuracy & "listenability". These deserve more than 5 stars, quite honestly!

Micca MB42X G2: Unbelievable Sound for the Price!
I wasn’t expecting much for a pair of passive bookshelf speakers under a hundred bucks, but the Micca MB42X G2 completely blew me away. The build quality is solid, the design is clean, and most importantly, the sound is shockingly good for the size and price.Balanced, clear, and surprisingly dynamic, these little speakers punch well above their weight. I thought my JBL Studio 530s were a bargain, but the Micca MB42X G2 outperforms them by a wide margin in terms of sheer value. If you're looking for an affordable, compact speaker that doesn’t skimp on sound quality, this is it.Highly recommended for budget-conscious audiophiles!

The hype was a lie, but..
Well. I've got a few ways to put this. I previously was using a Sharp 50 Watt Stereo Set that I bought from Best Buy for $150 to listen to bluetooth tunes with my buddies. I ended up running it through my PC simply with an average 3.5mm aux that ran from my sound card to the audio in on the mediocre sharp stock mini receiver the stereo came with. At first test, the sound on this mediocre set of speakers way actually much more impressive than the Micca's. Let me explain:Out of the box, by themselves, plug and play.. these speakers are a major let down. I'm not a hater, I'm not picky, I'm not pessimistic.. I've had $30-80 logitech sets and bluetooth "best buy" level shelf speakers my entire life. I simply think the lack of constructive criticism is drowned out by users trying to ride the bang wagon of "OMFG miccas MB42's!. These speakers are not NEARLY as good as the top 10 amazon reviews make them out to be.. "best small speakers in the world"? Not by a mile.Out of the box by themselves, the highs are deafening sharp to the point of them being far too bright and tinny. The lows kick for a typical shelf speaker, so that's cool. They don't act like a sub, but they get the job done to a mild extent. The mid's were absolutely non-existent. I powered these with an SMSL SA-50 amp, something that is MORE than enough to power these speakers to sound well as well as high quality OFC 16 guage wire. Then my soundcard is an external Creative Soundblaster XFI that sends out superb sound. For about a day I was seriously heart broken with these, but I stuck with it and made upgrades. I purchased these with my very first subwoofer, a Dayton 800 8" sub that has glorious reviews for his price effectiveness and great sounding rich bass for home audio setups and desk setups. After a couple days, I think I have them where they want them, and they sound good. I made the following tweaks:1) Tweaked sub up the wazzoo, cranked up the crossover to the max to take care and fill the lows for the Micca's so they wouldn't make muddy bass trying to play with the Dayton sub. That helped a lot, then turned gain way down because it sounded very muddy as well with the speakers. Currently have crossover maxed with sub gain at 3/10 notches, fills the bass perfectly without being muddy or too quiet. Just a rich sound.2) NoAudiophiles EquilizerAPO Correction: Used this with a few corrections to try and get the sound right. I have all the "tweaks" from NoAudiophile's Equilizer APO preset enabled up to the 1100hz peak filter tweak. All peak filter tweaks are disabled after that, and it sounds best. Just trust me.3) Put them on foam stands with optimal placement: Raised them up off my desk about 4 1/2 inches placed to the edge of home-made foam pads from some packaging (still looks great) and it's helped soak up muddy sound turning my desk into a vibrating subwoofer of its own, and offers a greater clarity and sound stage. Formed an equilateral triangle with my ears with the tweets and 4" woofer.4) Creative's SoundblasterXFI software equalizer. Used the dance preset (Crystal highs, calm mids, deep lows) and then brang down the lows a final time just a tid bit (.8 - 1.2 decibels each) and that was the final cherry on the cake for getting rid of any muddy bass the woofers couldn't blend well.5) Stream non-garbage quality music. 320KBPS Vorbis OGG from Spotify of the studio quality songs is your friend.6) Break them in: Been playing a lot of music and letting the subwoofers low-mids and lows expand out and breathe a bit.All in all, these went from an extremely overrated 5/10 speaker that you WILL be dissapointed with for what the expectation was to a good 7.5-8/10 speaker for the expectation. Follow my above recommendations and give it some time to break in and you should be just fine. They need a sub, no exceptions. If you don't have a sub and some time to EQ these to how I said above, you should probably return these.
