Michael Jackson: The Making of Thriller 4 Hardcover – Picture Book, September 5, 2014

I would definitely recommend any Michael Jackson fan should definitely add this book to their collection.

Man, man, MAN!!! The cover itself is awesome!!! Holo of MJ Thriller human and then the ghoul version. Everyone was asking me where to get this book based off of the cover (I was in the bookstore). Only three copies, so good luck to them.Anyway, the photography and layout is amazing (though I would have loved to have some more full shots so more pictures were zoomed in/bigger.This literally is a behind the scenes book, BUTTTTTTT a lot of these pictures you've seen via the 3d toy from the 80s, pictures in 80s magazines, and Making of Thriller. Definitely worth the money and die hard MJ fans will love the pictures.There were definite great RARE shots that were awesome. I would have loved to have had more pictures of the other zombies. Wasn't any of them by themselves. Ummmm, it would have been great to have quotes from the other dancers (well besides the assistant at the time. Forget his name but he's a director and choreographer. He's the main white dude in Beat It. Vincent I think is the last name?Okay positives- Rare pictures (ROCK HUDSON SHOWED UP and Mike was shocked. You see pictures of that like snape one snape 2 snap 3 snap 4 of the camera roll.Cool shots of Ola Ray and Mike together. Mike brought his snake Muscles in. That was a great reminder that he had the snake before Bubbles.Mike in the black/white Pepsi commercial jacket playing Donkey Kong. Great pic!!!I wanna know who that pretty Asian girl was? Mike's assistant?/friend?/Girlfriend?Insight into the photography. Some really good poses of Mike. Like the one where he's "strangling" the viewer as a zombie. Greatly done. Photographers and peopel interested in photography will love how the photographer explains how she did that picture AND SHE SAYS NO IT WAS BEFORE DIGITAL AGE. (And before Photoshop/Illustrator. HAHA)Also, the werewolf pictures are brilliant. some of them are between takes and some have Michael with the werewolf eyes in and some without. yeah definitely scarier with them in, but they are great pictures to.Negatives-1)HONESTLY this dude was dumb. He litereally went on the internet and put quotes from stars about Michael's death under pictures. I'm like DUDE TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE FRICKIN' PICTURE. I mean yeah I know Michael will be greatly missed and yeah he's an icon. NO DUH. Yeah the dude/dudette pretty much quoted a lot of the quotes from celebrities during the day MJ died or the funeral and you heard what everyone's quote was. Yeah a lot of quotes from the internet.2) No pictures of Michael arriving on the set each day (or at least ONE DAY. It's mostly him in the chair or on the set the day of...It would have been great to have pictures of: (Like in the making of Thriller video) A) Pictures from the dance rehearsals, script rehearsals, etc).3) I know Michael didn't start sporting the white glove in public until pretty much 1983 (this film was done in 1983) but it would have been awesome to see him in a picture showing his glove to Ola, a kid, somebody that would have wanted to see the glove.4) No design sketch of the Thriller costume (I know it was John's wife that made the costume, but that'd have been cool).5) No pictures of perhaps Mike wearing glittered socks for Thriller and perhaps deciding this is too showy let's just to the basic whites.6) Deleted scenes? Well there are some pictures that could be outtakes or extra footage that was ultimately left out. That's a positive so I guess the negative is on those scary pictures of the ghoul Mike or Werewolf Mike, there are no RELEVANT CAPTIONS about what the picture's about.7) There's a picture of Michael (no ghoul makeup) during the dancing scenes and a ghouls' behind him. It's on his anniversary album. I would have loved to have seen a picture of this and a caption underneath. Was this a deleted dance move that was cut, or just a publicity pic from the female (forget her name the photographer of these pictures I think.)8) I know other celebrities showed up. This just goes back to this being a money maker for the people behind this because they could have REMEMBERED a lot of GREAT stuff that happened during the Thriller video adn they coudl have added that.9) Not enough different pictures. Like, some pictures are Snap, snap, snap and he/she shows those pictures. Literally some pictures are taken seconds after each other, so that's not too significant.

The price of it on here is ridiculous. I actually found 2 copies of this book, Brand New and Still Wrapped, in a Borders before it closed down. The original price was $30-40 each before they took the closing percentage off. You're insane if you pay this much for this book, because I'm pretty sure you can find it new elsewhere.Other than the price of it on Amazon it's worth a read or to add to your MJ collection.

I just picked this book up at my local Border's (which is currently going out of business) for $18. It's an awesome book, but $365? What a joke!!!
