A classic text, still current, still amazing.
If you do any kind of surveys on amphibians and you don't have this book.... you probably need to rethink your life. No seriously, this is THE standard. I think there is a newer on out I reviewed last year, but this one is much more clearly laid out and covers everything from Pit traps to making a good data sheet for your crew. When I get new students that have to design a project, I hand them this book. a true classic in the field.

exactly what i was expecting great book. Perhaps not necessarily poignant for the advanced herpetologist but relevant for anyone w/ a BS or an avid interest in herps.

Good book
I chose this one because I was looking for an profund explanations about this class and I approve this book. It arrived in time and although second hand it was in good conditions. Very good one.

Indispensible book for herpetologists and other scientists
This book is without a doubt one of the most beneficial books for any researcher working with amphibians. It is very frequently cited in the literature and contains many well described techniques for monitoring and assessing amphibian populations.

Useful
The book is useful to whoewer is intrested in amphibian research: it contains various chapters about larvae, adults, how to estimate populations, how to capture and handle them, and so on. Some techniques are quite old, but it remains a really useful book.
