Best ABG Mix
I know you can make your own ABG Mix but this is just quick and simple. Itโs a great product and the website will tell you how much you will need. Make sure you empty contents into a bucket and fully mix it before use as itโs layered in the bag. Once mixed get it moist and spread it around. In my opinion best ABG mix out there.

Surprise!!!
I am in the process of setting up a vivarium for my grandson. I was planning on collecting some lowly critters from around our area of Southeast Alaska for my grandson to observe. I mixed Joshโs Frogs Biobedding and ABG substrates. I placed them over Joshโs false bottom and barrier. There is nothing else in there but a flat rock which I washed and baked in the oven. This morning I found a miniature snail making its way across the rock. It is only 1mm and as cute as a button. Its shell is iridescent and stands up like a tire. As you can tell I am not upset about the snail. I even placed some fish flakes on the rock and spritzed the tank for it. I am worried that there maybe other live critters that came in the substrate which I may not be very excited about. The substrates themselves seem to be good quality mixes. I gave Joshโs Frogs substrates 5 stars because I am happy with them even with the snail. I realize many other peoples objectives are different than mine and would be horrified by the stowaway. I wrote this review because I thought others would like to know of the possibility of a stray hitchhiker. Update: The snail turned out to be a garlic glass snail. I am not sure what they eat as there is not much information online about them just a larger cousin. I also found out there were other hitchhikers in Joshโs BioBedding. Nothing harmful, just clean up crew type critters such as earthworms and millipedes. All of the critters must have come as eggs in the substrate. Still happy with Joshโs Frogs substrates.

Great for tropical pets!
Great bedding for our tree frog. Stays moist all day, and is great for his plants and bugs . Also Great that we don't have to constantly be cleaning the poop, as this helps break it down, so we only have to clean it twice a year!

Pretty Good Soil Mix for Humid Vivariums
The soil mix is comprised of some lighter material, spongy spagnum moss, bark, and some slate or similar false bottom (better detail on product description.) It is pretty good for making a balanced humid vivarium for reptiles or invertebrates, but not practical for larger tanks like 15gal or around there because itโs not much material for large tanks. In those instances youโll want to use ecoearth, spagnum moss or another type of moss, bark or wood pieces or just mulch, and maybe expanding clay balls (hydroballs) at the bottom. You might want to use pebbles or the false bottoms instead of or with the hydroballs. Add some baked leaf litter to the top for added effect (especially good for invertebrates like isopods or springtails), just haul some from a forest and bake it in an oven at 250F for 30 mins and all shall be dead so you can safely introduce leaf litter without mite scum ruining it all. Probably avoid leaf litter online unless you need a specific type or donโt live near a forest, because people can literally just grab some leaves from the woods, bake, and sell at a high price so keep that in mind.
