Borescope Klein Tools ET510

A borescope is super handy. Peak inside walls, tight places, weird gaps, in cars, etc. The firm but flexible scope is much better than the flimsy thin ones you may see out there. I'd rather have it be a little cumbersome and sturdy than try to wiggle a skinny noodle around. Despite my general content with this device, there are several weak points.- Battery life is very bad and the charging is done via USB mini B, that old weird smaller USB connection that you haven't seen in 10 years. There is no indication of charge level while it's off and charging.- Screen resolution and view angle are poor. Colors wash out off axis and fine details are hard to make out. You can move the camera closer to the target, but then you lose focus...- Camera head is a little too large. It requires a significant hole or gap, but I believe you can buy a smaller one. It is replaceable at least.Over all it does the job and it better last for the price. I sure hope that battery is a somewhat standard shape/size because if it barely lasts today, it's going to be real sad in a few years of use.

The boroscope is an amazing device. It can be used in any application you need visibility in blind spaces. I use mine mostly when I am adding electrical or sound system wiring to an in an existing wall. Hidden wiring, and plumbing in the wall has potential for disaster. With the Klein Boroscope you can look inside wall through existing hole, or make small hole in area you no safe to map out your project before starting.This summer the power supply went bad in my camper. I had no idea where to find it behind multiple wall panels in basement of camper. An existing hole went through center of wall for sewer pipe big enough boroscope fiber optic would fit through as well. I was able to locate power supply, read model number on it, order unit to have in my possession and plan my approach before I ever removed the first screw. If you are a DIY person you will find it priceless

This thing is awesome. Easy to use and is very flexable. I thought it had the ability to take pictures, but I was wrong. Still very helpful in my line of work.
