Egregores: The Occult Entities That Watch Over Human Destiny Review: Phenomenal introduction to egregores/mass-parallelized tulpas - A decade ago the foreword would have been noncontroversial for any political background in America. The hypernormalization via propaganda both sides of the spectrum have experienced recently have somehow made it illiberal to oppose foreign oligarch-funded social "divide and conquer" campaigns, but it is not. A wonderful anti-fascist foreword in my opinion, labeling our modern brownshirts on both the left and right for what they are: People possessed by deliberately created memetic packages designed much like software for the human mind. A technology that has cost us tens of millions of lives over the last century and erased the majority of native world cultures, starting with Europe and then conquering the world (for all intents and purposes). If we are to stop the colonization by our most powerful, understanding their tools as control software for the human mind rather than sacred, untouchable truths will be essential. Stavish and Wasserman have done something wonderful here for all us humans not born of privileged ruling parasite-class blood. A rare book both Marx and Locke would endorse. The book itself is a great read, though I would love a more thorough dive into the nitty gritty of the interface between mass memetic packages and their host minds. Review: Important and unusual subject - This is about a deep subject that I have seen little written or spoken of until this book, one that affects all of us in our daily lives, society and world in ways sometimes hard to see and understand. The book is very well-written but may require close reading and study to understand the implications of what is being said about the ways egregores are created and the effect they have on our consciousness and the way we think, feel and act in our lives and the direction we are influenced to go in our spiritual paths -- also how to get free of egregores that are harmful to our true growth and personal freedom. Well worth reading--highly recommended!

Phenomenal introduction to egregores/mass-parallelized tulpas

Important and unusual subject
This is about a deep subject that I have seen little written or spoken of until this book, one that affects all of us in our daily lives, society and world in ways sometimes hard to see and understand. Ignore the foreword
A well written book with some great information. Ignore the foreword, it is a highly biased, politicized, conspiracy driven essay that has little to do with the rest of the book besides the main theme. It sets the book up in a poor light, and almost made me want to return it or toss it in the garbage. I don't know why the author allowed it to set the stage for what turns out to be a knowledgeable, non-partisan, look at the subject without any of the conspiracy fueled political tripe contained within the foreword. When it arrives, skip the foreword.

extremely important book
This is an extremely important book, on a little known aspect of the esoteric, well written and very important and interesting. There is much to consider and be aware of concerning groups, of all kinds, and the forces (egregores), that have the power to control our thoughts and actions. Insights into feelings we may have had, about joining or leaving certain groups, are very helpful. There is one comment/correction, I would make in reference to the Illuminati, pgs. 59-60. It is, rather the Gnostic Mystery Schools, who sustain the spiritual tradition, so that it will not be lost to the tides of ignorance that sweep through this, kali Yuga cycle. The Illuminati, on the other hand, operates on the material plain....in politics, government, education, the media, entertainment, social engineering, all and anything that can/will control people. See: Not In His Image by John Lamb Lash 2006, pgs. 146-50. 2013, 2021. I have been on the Esoteric Path for a very long time, and this book by Mark Stavish, is one of the most important books I have read in a long time. Profoundly true; the 'all-caps' statement, p. 84. Highly recommended.

A whole branch to add to your occult tree
I recommend pairing it with the book Meta-Magick: The Book of Atem. Because as this book teaches you about egregores, the book of atem shows you how to create one - or rather the two books teach you both sides of the coin. This is a great book and thoroughly interesting read. It will make you blow a gasket in your mind but in the kindest of ways. Wasserman approved and it is the only occult book I have ever seen for everyone. Perfect for any student of metaphysics, philosophy, anthropology, magic, magick, or entertainment as it makes the world around you look like a strange film indeed. It is a must have because it compliments any personal occult library as that one book you don't have but have to get.

Illuminating and Thought Provoking
I wasn't sure what to expect and wound up being very pleasantly surprised. From the point of view of someone who really enjoys history, especially Classical Mediterranean history, this sheds a lot of light on functions of the ancient Roman state and others who regarded the people who presided over ceremonies dedicated to the gods of their city as very important functionaries. The discussion and examples provided in this book really connected a lot of dots for me regarding a variety of historical anecdotes. The book provides an intriguing lens through which to view ancient practices and the "why" behind them. From a more esoteric point of view, it is an excellent model to use when analyzing groups/lodges/fraternities, etc. Using this framework, it really helped put group activities, how things can succeed, go downhill, our role in those activities, etc. in a new and very helpful light. Very much worth your time and you'll find a lot of interesting stories and "ah ha!" moments that I think will stay with you every time you interact with a group of people, from a supper club to a nation-state.

Frustrating to read
This book is so badly written I’m having trouble finishing it. The author adds tons of useless information into every chapter about everything except the subject at hand: egregores. It’s gotten so annoying I’ve started to just skip every paragraph that doesn’t have the word egregore in it. He absolutely cannot stay on topic, it’s amazing.

This book was recommended by Damien Echols in one of his videos. I immediately showed keen interest in the topic of egregores and thoughtforms. Even though I am relatively new to the study of the occult and magic Mark Stavish managed to convey his concepts very clearly to me through his concise style of writing. The author seems to have an extraordinarily far-sighted and unbiased perspective and still manages to maintain rationality in the study of supernatural phenomena. I learned many things while reading this book, not only about egregores but about several different topics connected to them. Very original and impressive. I'll probably study more of Stavish's works.

For me this book is important in a number of ways and on different levels. I found it a very enjoyable read as well as providing what I now consider essential information bringing beneficial awareness to a subject that is rarely written about. I found the writing style comfortable and colourful, with good examples and elaborations scattered throughout. Much of the content was easy to grasp, in addition there were areas that promoted much contemplation and discussion. I will be considering and working with concepts that became illuminated by this work and the book will be placed in my reference section where it will become well thumbed, I am sure. I highly recommend you delve into the interesting content of this well presented work.

If you have ever wondered about the mysterious power cults seem to hold over their adherents, or have an interest in group psychology and mass consciousness, you will probably find 'Egregores' very interesting! I've been an avid reader of the authors blog & newsletter VOXHERMES which touches on egregores and similar themes. Great stuff!
