So AMAZING! (Repeat 3x)
I am running FH6-LCR's as L and Right, and Bic venturi as wide's (the bookshelf ones), and the smaller 3" driver Venturi as rears......back to this center...When I first unplugged the FH6 center and plugged this in I wasnt inpressed, it wasnt better, then I re-ran Auddsey calibration on my Onkyno 809 and BAM!!It is "throaty" and full of volume and thickness. The mid-bass is great and it is so efficient my receiver had to set it at -9.5db (versus +1) on the FH6. I adjusted it to -3.0 and its just what I want to hear. When someone said "sounds like the people are in the room with you" that is true, you can hear people breathing, clicking, everything. It sounds like this speaker has its own amplifier but do not confuse that with loudness or sound pressure. What it really sounds like is when you take a good microphone and plug it into a PA amp and talk, that's what it sounds like right in your face. Will update once I watch planet of the Apes this weekend and Lord of the rings 2. Only watched 1h of Underworld last night. Very impressive. Very. Makes you "want" to even listen to the dialog "down time" scenes of movies when there are not explosions or gun fire. The big difference between this and other Bic but non-Acoustech speakers is this sounds great with music also.I have installed 6 of the BIC 8" inwall speakers (Acoustech, L,R, surrround and 2 in his bar for 2 chan audio) in my uncle's basement and love the bass and sound. Terminator salvation blew the grill off the front, which prompt me to finally pull the trigger on this center. My theater area is about 40' wide by 20' from projection screen to sofa. Also this would sound great mounted on the wall behind a screen about 3' off the ground. My screen is 106" but not the kind that lets audio pass thru'***Note Its impossible to screw these terminals with your fingers so I used 2 banana plugs to connect the speaker wire**Because this speaker has the highest sensitivity in my set up at about 96-98db its best if you are going to manually do any adjusting to do it just under refrence level (ref. level is when the volume reads "0" on absolute recievers or 82 on onkyno recievers when its set to count from 1-100). For instance it is nice and full at 63 but at 72 it overpowers my entire system, wont even think about 82 (ref level) with this beast. I dont want to but I know I'm going to end up getting a pair of PL-89's to go with this and probably moving my bed into the basement and living in my theater room. haha.

Amazing speaker for the money
This speaker was a great deal for the. money. I tried both the Klipsch 504c and BIC speaker. I was really torn. The Klipsch has a better low end but it's muddy. The voice is garbilly and very hard to hear. The BIC speaker matches my BIC Tower speakers. This center channel is very loud and very clear. The two are the same loudness. The Klipsch is a much better speaker as a full range speaker, but as a center channel it was horrible for my needs, but for my purposes the BIC speaker is much clearer and easier to understand. For me that makes its a better speaker. Just listen to the speakers and make the best decision possible for your needs !

Best bang for buck large center speaker!
The enclosure alone is worth the price of this speaker. It sounds great too. Much better than my old KLH center or the Optimus 8" bookshelf speaker I was using. The timbre on this is very close to my Klipsch R-820-F towers. I got such a good deal on those I couldn't bear to spend hundreds more on a Klipsch center speaker that is so small in comparison to two large towers. I don't believe that center speakers should cost even close to $1000 or much more. A single comparable floor-standing speaker is much less costly. Ideally you would use 3 matching floor-standing speakers for left, center, and right. But if that's not feasible, get the largest center speaker you can find. If you want a really high-end center, buy this and replace the drivers and tweeter and still save money compared a large high-end big name brand center. The woofers look more gold-colored than the silver they appear to be in the picture.

Good sound. Too bulky
Good sound. Too bulky and cannot fit under a TV unless the TV is hung high on a wall.

Wow!!!
Just WOW!! Who Knew this thing out performs so many centers Ive tried including Klipsch its nestled in between my 2 15” subwoofers THX Ultra Certified MonoPrice and my 2 MTX 12” loudspeakers (my FR & FL) within my 5.2.2 system ran by my Marantz receiver and this thing IS INCREDIBLE!!! 10 out of 5 stars for sure!! I will NEVER own another center speaker period!! My other speakers are LOUD AF and this Center speaker is able to rise above them with the dialogue and Center sounds and crisp and clear NO DISTORTION whatsoever even at very high sound levels!!

Very good center speaker for the price.
Speaker takes some time to break in. But once it does it blends fairly well for music and is great for home theater. I'm using mine with a pair of Klipsch CF-4 speakers in my master bedroom. Speaker is very dynamic and can get incredibly loud. Speaker is also very efficient and can be run to it's full potential from a 200 watt amp. It's appearance is beautiful and will blend well into any hi-fi setup lookswise. I owned the Bic PL-28 version 1 before this one and I can tell you the vocal clarity is much better with the Bic PL-28 Version 2 speaker. Seems like they did some work on the crossover between versions and it definitely paid off. Bass is not great, but it is adequate. My only gripe is the speaker does have a hollow sound at times. Seems like a null in the lower midrange frequencies. Other than that, it's a great deal at this price. It sounds MUCH better than the Klipsch KV-4 speaker I had before it. I definitely recommend this center speaker.
