Good product

Some reviews said it was too tall and did not fit. It was 1/4" taller than the original, and it DID fit just FINE!Some reviews said the black upper and lower surfaces are shiny black plastic allowing air to leak through and whistle. This is NOT true. The surfaces are grippy and rubber-like, which matches the original and makes a good seal. The filter is made in China according to the fine print on the box, which seems to be misleading with all the 'USA' flag imagery and vendor name of 'LifeSupplyUSA'. Just sayin.

I changed my filter a few weeks ago. I was hesitant to buy this one based on some of the other reviews but, for the price, thought I'd try it out. Some other reviews were complaining it wasn't a Honeywell OEM product and therefore not as good. I had the 2 side by side and couldn't see a difference (other than the old one being dirty). It fits perfectly in my Honeywell 18155 and does the job. It did make a little rattling noise when I first put it in, but that was user error. It wasn't in all the way and flat. Once I installed it correctly it has worked like a champ for the last few weeks.

First, LifeSupplyUSA's service was exceptional. Their filter was delivered three days after my order. Their price was the best I found. I would purchase from them again and would recommend them to others.Sadly, the filter I ordered didn't fit my (old) Honeywell 17205-CST air purifier. I had purchased a filter from Amazon previously, so I looked up my old order and ordered the same filter model. But I should have checked to see if the new filter fit my 17205-CST.Apparently there were two Honeywell air purifier models: the 17205 and the 17205-CST. It seems they use slightly different filters. My old filter was approximately 14" OD and 9.125" ID. The new one was 14.5" OD and 9.25" ID.The 17205-CST has round raised edges that hold the filter, and a central raised edge that fits into a groove on both sides of the filter, forming an air lock.The new filter's inside diameter was slightly larger than the inside air lock edge. The outside diameter was too large to fit inside the outside air lock edge. And the groove didn't match up to the central air lock edge.I'm sorry to have to return a great product and pay more to get the right one. But I highly recommend LIfeSupplyUSA. I'll check with them first the next time I need a replacement air filter. And I'll make sure it fits my Honeywell 17205-CST.

For the most part this filter is perfect! It looks and fits like the original factory filter, with one suttle difference, the meshing that raps around the HEPA FILTER which protects it so one does not have to replace it as often and makes it last for almost the life time of the machine was missing from the unit. This did not dawn on me until I started writing this review and was looking at the picture of the replacement filter next to this review box with the glare of the meshing giving off this wavey glare. I took my unit and opened it up, and sure enough, no protective meshing on the filter. When the package arrived in a timely fashion and fit perfectly inside the unit, I was excited about that and from reading the reviews from others, which made me choose and order this particular one. However, once in the unit and turning it back on, the machine did not sound right, so I just chalked it up to it being a new HEPA FILTER, learning now (all to late) I may have to consider ordering from the manufactuer from now on.

The original Honeywell air purifier came with a “permanent” hepa filter. After about a decade of wildly abusing my purifier and not replacing and not caring for the filters a fuse blew it stopped working. After coaxing my dad to fix my beloved air purifier which had kept me from coughing so much I couldn’t sleep for over a decade, my dad fixed it and insisted I replace all the filters. So I bought this replacement hepa filter about 3 years ago. It worked well until recently when I started having allergy/coughing/sneezing issues again. Since it was rated for 1 year it still worked better than advertised, but not as well as the filter that came with the air purifier that worked for me for at least a decade.

Item does not fit my unit even though the product description says it will. Just like the others stated its about1/4 " too short and makes all kind of noise. Now they want me to pay to ship it back?*upgraded to 3 stars due to good customer service. Item received was not to specs as interior diameter and height were too small. Seller sent a replacement. Unfortunately that still didn't fit my model as it was too short but the with was now good. Received a prompt refund. Wish it would have worked out but these will not fit model 50150.

This works as a perfect replacement filter there is really no way to know if it is made by honeywell or not but it doesn't matter to me..the price was great and the build quality is equal to that of the original part.Highly recommended
