Lotus Foods Organic Madagascar Pink Rice, 15 Ounce

If you don't eat a lot of rice, you might miss the nuanced flavors and textures of a quality rice like this. My family eats a lot of rice and we're always looking to add some variety to the repertoire. I love that I can put a cup of this in my Zojirushi rice-cooker and in about an hour have some top-notch rice to serve. While I feel Lotus Foods is a bit pricy for the amount you get, I have no qualms over the quality of their products. This is one of my favorites and I've yet to encounter any grit or debris in their packages. I'll normally rinse the generic bulk rice I get from my grocery store, but this goes right into my cooker and comes out tasting fantastic. It blends well with coconut, peanut and curry seasonings, but is flavorful enough to eat by itself without any enhancements.~ Kort

The rice in and of itself is good. Kind dry and fluffy like a basmati, but in a shorter grain. The big problem that I have with this rice is that it has grains of sand and rice husks in it. Obviously, it's not a totally loss because you can take the time to sift through your grains of rice to remove the sand and husk, but the rice is not good enough to be worth the trouble. I will probably not be buying this rice again.

The flavor is wonderful and it looks pretty too. It doesn't seem to take as long to cook as regular brown rice does, but it does take longer than plain old white rice. Love it.

Lotus Food has an excellent rice here. I cooked it with sprouted pink lentils and it could not have been better. It likes curry spices.

It was not what I expected it. It was as hard as brown rice and it tastes old.
