An essential text for your Lenormand library
If you want to learn traditional Lenormand card meanings and interpretation methods and don't want a lot of modern innovations to confuse the matter, then this is the book for you. It's a compedium of the 18th and 19th century essentials. You won't get overwhelmed by card meanings for every eventuality. You'll see how the Grand Tableau was originally read. Plus there are appendices that explain the original German cartomantic meanings for the playing cards depicted, and the 1796 Viennese coffee-ground meanings from which the Lenormand cards were probably devised. You'll want to also get another book that offers a more modern approach to the cards, but I consider this book absolutely essential for keeping one grounded in Lenormand as it was read for more than 200 years.

Excellent resource for traditional meanings
This book is an excellent way to explore the historic and traditional meanings of the Lenormand cards. It cites original and historic texts and provides a list of noun and adjective meanings to aid in pairing. I highly recommend this book for anyone new to Lenormand -- and even seasoned readers interested in the original meanings.

Great little book!
I found this to be a great companion book to have with other Lenormand books. This book focused more on the history and traditional meaning on the individual cards. Overall, it was a great learning experience that has enhanced my Lenormand readings!!!

Excellent for learning historical meanings
This is the best book I've come across for meanings of the cards from a historical perspective. It really advanced my understanding of the cards and allowed me to form my own personal meanings for the cards.

Best book on Lenormand symbols I have read over the last years! It brings back the Lenormand symbols to its pure, simple meaning. No mix with tarot and other cards / decks. Very helpful.

Short overview, but very useful
Anthony Louis's exploration of Lenormand symbology is useful for scholars who like to ask •why• certain Lenormand symbols mean what they do. He includes comparisons of meaning from older methods, including descriptions of the actions in the corresponding Game of Hope. This e-book was short, but worth the read!
