This is one of my favorite true stories! I listened to it on tape but am very happy to now own this copy! One of the best books and told by each person …….! Very good!

I often think that the world is a nasty, loveless place. Selfishness rules the world BIG TIME. The only thing people think of is "what's in it for ME ME ME". This couple is something else altogether. What they do is TRUE RELIGION. And I say RELIGION because I don't want to name any specific religion. This is what ALL people should do, always. Seeing a brother in any other person. Don't look away when you see someone is in need. Living from your heart and being there. Give, without expecting something back.We all can be generous. Buy a meal for a homeless person for instance. Don't look away. There are many many ways we can make a difference. Look someone in the street in the eye, and say hello to someone you don't know. When you do that, many times people think they know you, and start a conversation. just saying hello and being friendly, can be a good start.I loved their story. These people are for real. There are so many beautiful and sometimes hilarious moments in this book that should have been in the movie "the Blind Side". A story that touches deep in the heart.When I received the book, late in the afternoon on a Saturday, I started reading right away, and just couldn't put the book away. I read till 4.30 am, slept a couple of hours and then at 9 am I continued reading again.It's a story of joy, of hope, and unconditional love.This is a book that makes your heart glow.What a great family. The world is going to be a better place if we all reach out and give from our heart.That is TRUE RELIGION, when you live from the Source of Love. They set a great example, we can all follow. I admire them a lot.

After reading Michael Lewis' The Blind Side and watching the film based on that book, I was excited to hear the story from the Tuohy's perspective. I liked the way the book was setup: each Tuohy family member has a chapter describing their own thoughts and impressions of family and giving back to the community. In a way this book hit home for me; several years ago, close members of my family also informally adopted a young person from a poor, unstable background and gave them a home as well as guidance, stability, and an opportunity to succeed that they might not have had otherwise. Those members of my family are similar to the Tuohys in that, while they are financially successful, they also understand that monetary wealth means nothing unless accompanied by a kind, caring nature and generosity without expectation.A stated in the book, the Tuohy family did not seek out the fame and publicity that came with their adoption of Michael; and had they not been close friends with author Michael Lewis, their kindness and generosity may have gone unnoticed by the masses. But the advantage that friendship gave them was that it showed the world how one's actions define the future and that how a simple act of kindness and generosity can open up so many other opportunities. This was a great book, and should be read by anyone wondering how they can make a even a small difference in the lives of others.

This book is a must-read for anyone who Feels like they want to do more with their life. This family is a true example of what it means to live selflessly. The Humor and love exchanged in the members of this family is contagious. Additionally, They have been Giving away their time and resources to many young people, Breaking racial barriers,and touching many lives YEARS before the movie “the blind side”. Was made. FOR FREE SHIPPING BUT THE SYSTEM DID NOT ENABLE ME TO INCREASE THE QUANTITY OF BOOKS EVEN THOUGH THE TITLE ON THE PAGE SUGGESTED THAT YOU COULD CHANGE THE QUANTITY. I am in love with the story that was portrayed in "The Blindside". It is a fantastic movie that made me fall in love with the Touhy family and Michael Oher. This book was a great story about the Touhy's and their life. This was not a re-telling of the movie and that was what I was looking for. It was a really great to hear the stories from the Touhy's - with chapters alternating between Leigh Anne and Sean- and their kids even have their own chapters along with Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw.It was a really cute book- and an easy read. This book was not about how they should be noticed for what they did and I did not feel like they were "bragging" at all during this book. It was honest and down-to-earth book with a lot of love and humor. They are a wonderful family!The only reason it didn't get more stars from me- is there was sometimes during the book I felt a little bored. I am a murder-myster type book lover so this was something that was a little out of my norm but overall, I did enjoy the book and I would recommend it to anyone else.

An inspirational book that explains the story behind the movie and makes you realise that you have to work hard for the great things in your life, nothing comes easy, but the most important thing is people!

Hilarious and brilliant in equal measure. Not at all sanctimonius, and very uplifting. Would recommend to anyone needing a quick read to cheer themselves up about the world.
