Lesson in Life
Please read this book. It is a gift from a man and his family and an author that put on paper the best lesson we could ever learn. A coach whose story is told in such a way to make us all realize that coaching or careers or sports or anything of interest comes in "third" behind faith and family. The devotions at the end of this book are a true gift. Please take it from me, someone that doesn't come close to living the example set in this book, but appreciates being stopped in my tracks to remind me that I need to change my workout routine. Thank you to the family and to the author for this gift.

Must read! Excellent Book that helps us focus on what is really important.
What an awesome book! I don't think we understand sometimes that this life is just an opportunity for us to show God our true character.. He already knows our character because He created us but some people are so extraordinary that they get the call to Heaven early because God has an extra special role for them there. Keith was definitely one of these people. A must read!

Very moving story!!!
I do not read many books at all. I could not put this book down!! Very well written! Not just about Keith's fight against ALS, but the struggles and emotions of family and friends; and how Keith encouraged those around him. Ultimately, he lost his fight with ALS, but was a champion for God, family, friends, and his players. "Coaching Third" is not about a basebal coach, but rather about a man who learned what is really important in life; and taught that to all he came in contact with!!

Great book. Inspiring
Great book. Inspiring. Witnesses to the presence of a transcendent reality in baseball and in life. A must read for baseball fans and the general public. Traverses the progression of ALS in Coach LeClaire, as his body deteriorates, his mind and spirit emerge victorious. Helps refresh the fundamental characteristics of what makes us truly human and truly great.
