I have never read a more shallow example of Supplier Development.Clearly the Harris group has little knowledge with this aspect of Lean or Continuous Improvement.The Harris Team appears to be only familiar with old production practices used by Toyota in the 80's that have passed their prime of usefulness.The examples in this book are simplistic and not relevant to 21st century companies outside of perhaps a few mass production facilities.The Harris Team clearly is not in touch with todays dynamic and global supplier issues and concerns.I would pursuade to you find antoher piece of resource material if you are seriously interested in Supplier Development!
