Everything worked right away.Cons+ Would not hold up to much windNotes:I brought this to the Playa/middle of the desert with intense sun, sand, and wind. I did not expect this umbrella to hold up against wind - and I could tell it won't but for everything else it's perfect. I didn't try it in rain. Otherwise seems relatively sturdy for the price point.

Umbrella is very sun proof, I held up a normal umbrella next to it and my face felt warm under the sun but with this umbrella I couldn’t feel the sun. Very light Weight and opens and closes very nicely, it’s not very sturdy however, when the wind blew hard it flipped upwards a couple of times but not too bad for such a light weight umbrella.

As soon as you open this umbrella, the temperature drops 10 degrees on you. Excellent quick open design, I love the button feature on the handle. Cute pattern, and no smell.

I used this umbrella as protection from exposure to harmful sun rays. The added benefit of the UV coating is that it also blocks the heat, which I really liked. The sturdy construction makes it a little heavier than the smaller rain umbrella I've carried in my tote bag, but the upside benefits are well worth it.

Update: 10/2020 I’ve used this 3btimes and it won’t click into place now. It is stored in a closet on a shelf so nothing else damaged it.I find this umbrella to be beautiful. It is a tad heavy, but not too much that it's a burden. It does what it is designed to do. We could really tell a difference being under it in Tulum's sun. Glad I bought this.

Good sun protection and clever color choice (white outside so it won't get hot that quickly). CONS: You still have to MANUALLY close the umbrella after pressing the close button, AND it won't open unless you have COMPLETELY closed it (MANUALLY). I am not sure how long the springs could last...
