Smells like my Momma circa late 70s, early 80s
My Mom passed not too long ago; like many, I am clutching at every single thing that reminds me of her and brings me a measure of comfort. I came across a TikTok talking about fragrances of the 80s and there it was - my Momma's CHARLIE. I 'needed' that scent memory from when I was a kid, when there were no worries and life was simple, safe, better because she took care of everything. I was concerned when I saw there was no single CHARLIE now, but after reading the reviews it seemed the CHARLIE GOLD was my best bet. It arrived, I opened the bottle, pumped til it sprayed and THERE 🥹 IT 🥹 WAS... my childhood, my Momma. The quality/smell/ is IDENTICAL to what she wore. The gold color is of course the same; I think the bottle size is even the same as what she bought back then. I was so thankful that the cost was so affordable for an authentic bottle of CHARLIE. Now, when I'm having a heavy moment, I go get that bottle out of my drawer, close my eyes, and take a moment to remember my Mom how she was 🥹

There is no fragrance to it at all my air freshener in the bathroom smells better than this
It's terrible my febreze air freshener has more fragrance than this does I let my neighbor try some and she said horrible don't buy it I'm telling you there's no smell at all to it

Vintage scent
I'd heard a lot of reviews about Charlie Gold being such a good amber perfume. For such a great price I decided to give it a try. First...Amazon's packaging was terrible so my perfume arrived with the box totally crushed. Fortunately, the perfume bottle was undamaged and amazingly did not leak. Charlie Gold has a very vintage vibe. I detect an aldehyde quality in the opening which isn't listed in the notes. Its pretty screechy to my nose in the beginning but eventually settles down. I would call it more of a musk perfume than an amber. Performance is excellent, especially since it's an EDT. I got around 6 hours of wear before it started to fade. Its ok, just not my style. If you are looking for a classic, old school perfume, this would be a good choice.
