Where Have You Been All My Life?! Best Canister Vacuum I Have Ever Owned- And I've Owned Many...
First- I never write reviews because I worry that someone might find them to be inaccurate based on their own experiences, but this vacuum is THAT wonderful that I felt I had to. I wasn't familiar with the Atrix brand, but did a little research and found out they were an established commercial brand (commercial= built to last in my experience). I have owned multiple canister vacuums of known brands that were either too loud, too heavy, or cheaply made. This Atrix is NONE of those.PROs: 1. Quiet- I have a cat that is afraid of vacuums. He does not move when I use this vacuum.2. Lightweight- I carry it up and down carpeted stairs as I vacuum them very easily.3. Great Suction-I have 2 dogs and a cat and a messy family. It works great on my hardwood floors. It has aseparate attachment for carpets that works great on those as well.4. Maneuverable- The wheels turn easily and the vacuum head swivels in multiple directions to fit underfurniture and cabinets.5. Retractable cord- Always a plus!6. Metal handle- Although this entire vacuum is lightweight, the handle is made of metal and it does not feel cheaplymade.7. Hardwood "head"- It has a manual switch on it to allow for retractable bristles to be used or not.8. Bagged- I don't like emptying bagless vacuums for many reasons.9. Pretty- it makes me happy when I use it. (it's a girl thing).CONS: None yet. I have only had it for only a week and used it multiple times so time will tell as to it's durability. I didn't buy an extended warranty and am not sure what the manufacturer's warranty is. I was in need of a vacuum right away (as my Panasonic caught on fire) so this was not a concern. Amazon has always been great about returns when I wasn't satisfied. All in all- unless this vacuum dies in the next year, I highly recommend it. I hope I can revisit this review next year!

Terrific little vacuum
I've lived through several Electroluxes, a Dyson Animal, a Miele battery-operated, and an ancient Kenmore canister vac. The Kenmore still works but it's suction has dropped off over the years, despite cleanings, and the attachments were always awkward to change.Ordered the Atrix based on customer reviews -- and I'm so glad I did. It's a powerful little machine, cute, lightweight, easy to handle. Having the exhaust from the top of the machine makes it easy to use on stairs (by resting it on its rear). The HEPA filter means my house doesn't have that strange post-vac smell. What I truly love, however, is the telescoping wand, which makes it possible to go from cleaning floors to doing walls and ceiling. It's also a snap to switch out attachments. The attachments are lighter weight than what I'm used to, but given my age I welcome that change, because it makes vacuuming less tiring. Atrix could use a more robust device to hold attachments to the wand, however: theirs is pretty easily dislodged.

Great project vacuum...but maybe not for a general household vacuum
I bought this vacuum because I needed an affordable HEPA canister vacuum for a cleanup project. This vacuum is serving me well for the project. But I would want something a little more substantial for everyday long-term use.The vacuum comes with 2 vacuum bags (one already installed and an extra one in the box), a hose, a wand, and 5 attachments (carpet, hard surface, furniture, brush, crevice). As others have noted, the hose is made out of a lightweight/thin plastic. Based on other reviews and pictures posted, I'm handling the hose pretty gingerly to get through my project. The adjustable wand is made out of a substantial metal. The carpet and hard floor attachments are almost 12 wide (see pictures), but the other attachments are really small. The carpet attachment has one just one row of bristles. I do not have carpet, but I would imagine this would work fine on very low-pile carpet, but you might want a better attachment for medium to high-pile carpet. The floor attachment, while it's almost a foot wide, only has a 2 to 3 inch area to suck up dirt and dust. You may as well use the furniture attachment. Also, the bottom is made out of metal, and it scratched my vinyl plank floors, even with the little fabric protective strips. If you're buying this to use on hard surfaces, you'll really have to buy a brush attachment. I looked on Amazon and on the Atrix website, and one will set you back about $30 (with shipping and handling). (You might be able to find a generic brand/model that fits or, like me, try to use a brush attachment from another/your old vacuum.) Also, both the carpet attachment and floor attachment have levers on them, but I have no idea what they are for and how/when/why to use them.As other reviewers have noted, the attachments fall off easily while using the vacuum. And the wand occasionally falls off the hose. As a workaround to the wand falling off the hose, I hold onto the vacuum by the wand, instead of the hose handle. The vacuum has a retractable cord, which was a nice surprise. As far as suction, this seems to be a really good vacuum for picking up dust and small material. However, it doesn't do a good job of picking up larger debris. I vacuumed up quite a few small dead plant leaves, and at first I thought the vacuum was handling them. But it turns out they got stuck in the hose and wand. I gradually lost suction and when I took the wand off, all the leaves fell out of the wand and to the floor. As I say, this has been a good vacuum for my project. In fact, I'm considering buying another one for part II of my project. But for a regular household vacuum to use a couple days a week for a lot of years, I'd invest in something else. Especially if you have kids and you're going to want them to use this, as they can be a little hard on household equipment.

Great for the money
I am used to using Miele and wanted a second vacuum for my rental property. I tried a few, and this product was closest to the Miele at much less of a cost. Good suction and convenience.
