Big Smith Men's Stonewashed Bib Overall, 36x28

My new favorite pair
I wear overalls a lot. I have tried Walls, Liberty, Key, Carhart, and Pointer. I was looking to add another pair for spring/summer and saw these "Big Smith" brand. They were about $5 cheaper than most others so I thought I would give them a try. They came in and were true to size (order whatever regular pants waist and length you wear).I am able to button all buttons on both size and they are still comfortable the length was perfect. The galluses are adjustable and with the bib hitting me mid sternum the buckles still have plenty of adjustment to them. The denim is a light/medium weight, sturdy but not stiff after the first washing). Pants pockets are large. Back pockets are lower than some and are situated about the same place on your heinie as on jeans. There is no zippered pocket (tobacco pocket) on the bib. However they have 2 snap button pockets on each side (no flap) that are big enough to carry a Full size cell phone (Samsung Note 9). If you wear a pocket watch as in the old times they have the hemmed holes for the chain and either bib pocket is plenty large enough for the watch. Also, has 2 pencil pockets on the bib. They have a zipper fly which makes things a lot easier for those with hand/finger issues. The only thing that I can say that could be a negative is that the legs are not tapered AT ALL. They are the same width at the thigh as at the ankle. This works well if you wear boots as it has enough clearance to cover the boot tops. However, if you are wearing shoes, you get a flow when walking like a pair of 70s bell bottoms. To each their own taste, but I'd prefer a slightly more tapered leg.In conclusion, every other brand that I wear have one or two things that I disliked and those small things that I did not like about the other brands are corrected for me with these "Big Smiths". I bought another pair earlier this week.

Love these, but don't order Jean size...
The website said to order your jean size...mine is 40". My current overalls are 44" and a bit baggy.I ordered 42" and 44" Big Smith overalls: the 42" do not have enough room to allow the free movement, so often critical in work environment. The 44" were not as baggy as my current overalls, but roomy enough for free movement, and I don't think the rear would rip out when squatting. It seems they'd still fit fine, even w/ a bit of expected shrinkage. Also room for a canvas work shirt under the bibs or longjohns top and bottom when it's cold.Other great features:1) I love the metal button closures vs. horrible flat tab metal closures on current overalls.2) The extra 2 small pockets on the bibs are very useful--I found no other overalls that had these on the bibs.3) also like the pocket versatility on bibs w/ 2 large pockets, each of which has a snap button to effectively divide each into 2 compartments, or to keep contents from falling out.4) There are pockets on side of both legs...not sure if the one on the side with hammer loop is what they advertise as cell phone pocket...don't remember other brands that have that side pocket, and it could also be very useful for extra tools. I generally keep my phone in one of the large bib pockets.5) Roomy front and rear pockets.6) 100% cotton and very nice tight-weave fabric. The only thing that wasn't ideal: while website advertises company was founded in MO, I can find no info on web about where they are made. I assume they are not made in U.S. (Bummer) or that would be on tags and online. If they are, Big Smith needs to get their act together and make this obvious!

Lighter weight denim but spot on fit.
I have been looking for a pair of pair of denim overalls that both fit well fit when working, standing, and sitting as well as holds up to the abuse of of construction work. I've tried Key, Carhartt, Red Kap, Dickies, and now Big Smith. For a long time I was very happy with the performance of the Key overalls but their sizes run a little small in my opinion and while standing, they fit fine but through a full range of motion, the sides would blow out, wear out, and just hang open. Not ideal. The body fit on the Red Kaps was great but the inseam was insane. I needed to cuff almost 6 inches out of the leg. Carhartt is bulletproof but heavy. A real workhorse but sometimes you just need a bit lighter build. These Big Smiths are a perfect fit. Nice and supple too. No issues at all while working of any other time throughout the day. I really like the pocket designs. The bib especially. Two pockets with a snap closure easily retaining and securing a large electronic device. Tools tool. Very good. I think I found what I was looking for.

Good choice for work wear
Back in the day, my husband wore JC Penney's Big Mac overalls and they were no longer made. These are a good replacement choice. Sturdy, welk made. We prefer the non faded fabric, as the denim eventually fades with each washing.

Great Overalls
The denim fabric is thick and sturdy, but breaks in after only a few wears/washes. The clips and buttons are strong and hold well. Lots of pockets/space on the bib for easy access to tools and very deep pant pockets to prevent contents from falling out.

Not the best
Held up ok. The fit was good so no issues with size. I’m a diesel mechanic and they held up for about 6 weeks before ripping in a few places. So the search continues for a durable pair.

Overalls for Big Men
The Stonewashed Big Smith have the best fit, but the rigid ones are too tight in the crotch. Carhartt has a good fit. Dickies are either too big or too small. Roundhouse are too tight in the crotch. Liberty doesn't last long.
