Amazing lure
I have always had success with Swarm Commander in the small vials. When the usual vials weren’t available this year, I tried this. The swarm trap had been in place for weeks with just a few visits by scout bees. Within hours of adding this lure, the trap was covered by scout bees. I’m looking for a full swarm any day now. I will move the lure to another swarm trap. While not a controlled study, this impressed me as an effective bee lure. Edit: Caught two more swarms then. Similar experience this year….when this lure was added to boxes that I had used the gel in previously, I had scouts that afternoon, followed by a swarm in each 3 days later. Possibly coincidence but I’m sold.

It Works!
Every year I buy packages of bees to fill my empty hives. Each package is $200. I decided to try a couple of these lures in hopes they might work. I installed them in Mid February (i live in San Diego). I just did an inspection in late March, and both hives have a complete colony with a queen, a few drones and 2-3 frames of bees building honey stores. Plus I have these hives functioning earlier in the year than I could typically buy bees. Great product and huge $$ savings.

Doesn't work for me
I got this last year May, placed in the 10 frame deep brood box for 2 months, had a group of scout bees checked it out for few days, but didn't move in. So later I purchased the bees for that hive. But I kept it in my 5 frame nuc for the rest of the year, nothing moved in. This year, I put it in my nuc again last month, so far had few scout bees checked it out for few days, but again they didn't move in. Will update if I ever catch a swarm with it.

I will update in spring when I open but as I opened the package I can smell it through the actual sealed package pretty strong I have a bunch of worker bees in spring and I’ve tried regular lemon grass we’re interested a bit but never stayed
