Fish tank review
This is a great fish tank. I noticed that with some people, they tend overdo what they can do in certain fish tanks and then judge it from there. I'm not going to do that. Considering what I put this tank through, it withstood. I did had to change the filter, remove the back because I realized. I have six neon fish and 3 snails .....yeah my son's. And I was battling the pH. However I had it stable sometimes. Had fungus and a algae problem. I had to redue the whole tank, wash everything, remove the back, change the filter because it wasn't strong enough for what was being done.So if you want to get a betta fish. This is perfect for that, with its original filter. Possibly two mystery snails. If you want more, be prepared to do some Bob the builder. This is why I put the filter that I got and it's working great. Parameters are great now. It's stronger because of the amount of beings I have in there, the snails love sitting in that high stream. The neon like it. The filter also can be purchased on Amazon. If you're trying to put plants in there (even Moss) the light that is given forget about it. The light has no nutritional value for plants. However the tank should have been way more toxic, given it credit with testing and water change.Great fish tank.

So far, so good...
This is day two of my new freshwater tank with live plants. The pseudo sump compartment in the back has plenty of room for hiding the heater and air stone. The filter is very quiet and actually stronger than I thought it would be. I am going to change out the light though. It is very weak and I want a better plant LED. I am also building my own filters. I like there is space in the back for little DIY things like improving filtration. I almost turned this into a salt water but I was worried about creep in this tank. But I would like to get another and see if I can truly turn the back of the unit into a sump. There is enough room that I might be able to fit it with a mini skimmer. So, far it has been a nice little hobby tank.

Great product for your money
I’ve just set this tank up so this review is not based on longevity of the product. For this price, this product is engineered and made well; great value. The instructions were written well; set-up took about 15 minutes. It has three different filter materials water flows through and the filter system is completely hidden. The filter is also very quiet. The light fixture nicely lights the tank and has a on/off switch on the cord. While subjective, this product is visually appealing.

Honest and knowledgable review
This is a great and good looking little tank, however as an avid aquarist, I had to make some modifications to bring it up to its full potential. I will start by saying, the little pump is rather impressive! It is super quiet, so much so that I had to keep checking it was actually on, but that little motor does the job for a five gallon tank so I kept it as is. The changes I made were to add polishing pads and ceramic beads to the filtration. Forget about the little blue filters that go with it, those are pretty useless. The black bio pad is good though so I kept that. I also added a small heater, that is a must.I like live plants so the light that came with the aquarium is not adequate. I replaced it with a small hygger that offers a day/night cycle and am very happy with that upgrade. Here are my pros and cons:PROS: Thick glass, looks great on its stand and I love that you can hide the heater in the back with the filter.Filter is quiet, filtration is decent.CONS: the rounded corners are hard to clean with usual tools. You need to manually get them with a scrubby. Doesn't come with heater and I had to purchase a lot of upgrades to make the tank more manageable. The lid is a bit awkward, the glass top part is nice but you have to take the whole thing off every time you need to inside. You can slide it back giving you about a half inch to drop in food. The back part is a cheap plastic cover that doesn't seat nicely. I probably suffer more evaporation since the filters are there.Maintenance: I have 3 fish and a snail (1 betta, 2 corydoras) and 3 live plants (and floating frogbit) in this tank for reference. I need to clean the glass inside 2ce a week (I also have a lot of natural light from 2 windows so I get algae blooms I need to stay on top of) and I do water changes bi-weekly. Sometimes I go in with a fine mesh net and collect debris because the filters don't really get anything that settles on the substrate. I probably spend 15 minutes a week on it.Overall, I really love this little tank. I would give it 5 stars if I didn't have to upgrade so much to make it the best home for fish. I felt the price was on the high side but this is a well built and sturdy little tank and if the price drops, I would definitely buy another one.

Good starter tank or small tank.
This is the first tank I’ve owned and so far I’m very happy with it. The first two days you could hear the filter. But by the 3rd day we can not hear it at all. It’s become so quiet that I check to even make sure it’s on. Which is amazing. There are only 3 things I wish could be improved. The first was mentioned in many comments, it’s hard to lift the lid as there no handle or anything. But it’s sleek so I’m not upset. I just added a little command hook to grab. The next is that the cover to the back filter on mine is warped so it does not lay flat. It’s curved upwards. Not the worst thing but I’m ocd so it bothers me a bit as that leaves gaps for dust to get in. And last, the light. It’s not “white” and blue. It’s BLUE and less blue. This is not a deal breaker as I can always get a different light. As a first time tank owner I think it’s a great start to learning how to keep a fish and plants happy. 😃
