I bought them to judge effectiveness & durability over a single winter season. They're inexpensive and you know that going in. Actual aluminum or stainless steel would be much better even if the cost went up, assuming they work at all. I expect to clear them at least once or twice a season, maybe more. Folks that install this kind of prevention device directly under leaf bearing trees are idiots to begin with, they will clog at some point.
