This is a fantastic product, worked as expected with tons of options and the ability to configure settings is very handy. Everything installed properly and it works despite not having a dedicated POS server! The ability to reduce receipt size has been a huge thing for us. Only issue we ran into was an issue on our side of things not fully uninstalling our old drivers, but once we did a full uninstall it worked like a dream. The ability of the printer to cut the receipt off for us has been a big help and makes them look much more professional over all and speeds things up considerably more than we expected. We were hesitant about getting this printer since it did not have an Off switch but so far that hasn't been an issue since the printer itself hasn't had the same errors we've been experiencing with an old receipt printer we were using without much success before. Pros- Eco settings to shorten receipts Speedy printing! Tons of customization settings for specific needs that come with its own program, this has been a huge difference compared to our last which required you to dig around to even have a hope to adjust things Effective with our POS program despite it not being listed as compatible Works when printing a receipt from a browser! A list of compatible POS programs one could pick from We don't use it but the ability to print receipts from a mobile phone is a big plus that it's at least an option Cons- Size, this isn't a small machine like some others we've seen or had Uses thermal paper (this is more or less a downside just because of how much non-thermal paper we have from our last printer)

Purchased this unit to replace one that I believed had broken which we had been using hard for 10 years. Upon receiving this new unit I read the instructions and discovered that my old unit simply wasn't plugged in correctly. Amazon doesn't give me an option to pay for my own return shipping (since this was my mistake not theirs.) So instead I'll give a long term review of this printer. We've used this printer as our primary receipt printer for 10 years. It has never failed us. The only issues we've had are not related to the functionality of the printer. Sometimes new employees will try to print documents off the computer and accidently print them using this receipt printer which results in a hilariously long receipt full of contract terms. Also don't set your phone on top of them while they're trying to print or it will jam it. Fortunately jams takes less than 10 seconds to clear and even a 16 year old girl can figure it out. Also...if we jam it up this printer is smart enough to immediately reprint the receipt we were trying to print. We use these because they are the most reliable receipt printer on the market and the one time I doubted that I was proven wrong.

This printer is PERFECT for use with POS Maid software by Alexandria Computers, LLC. POSMaid is wonderful for a small business or Craft Show use. It is affordable and very functional. Allows for all monetary transactions and keeps tally. It is perfect for Entry level use. The inventory control is more than I expected. So far I have not found any issues that I could not resolve. I did have a question about multiple receipt printing, but an email to the POS Maid support team in conjunction with support from the Star Micronics website, resolved this. You CAN print multiple copies of each transaction.

Loving it so far. I didn't know I could even print text documents and images (in low-medium quality monochrome, mind you) right from my computer's regular programs without special receipt software, after installing the driver of course. All you have to do is figure out the page size and margins and such, available in the manual and online. Some programs like Excel are a little tricky. This makes it easy to print bits of information clearly without wasting a lot of paper. It's not fussy like a lot of regular printers. I just unplug it from one place and plug it into the other, wait a few seconds to hear the paper adjusting sound and the computer to recognize it, and print. I use this with Square Register on a Samsung Galaxy Note (3 ?). Once it's set up it plugs right into the USB On The Go adapter, app detects the printer, and I can print my customers their receipt! Very professional looking instead of just a text message or email URL, which many of our customers wouldn't really know how to use. It seems like a high price to pay for such a small seemingly simple device but so far it appears to be a sturdy, lasting machine. A package of receipt paper lasts a long time. If things fall through it has a high resale value as opposed to some other devices (just check out eBay and Amazon used). Trust me, if you're here shopping for a new business and need a printer, you need a thermal receipt printer. Don't use a regular laser or inkjet printer unless necessary for your situation. It's awkward, slow, and wastes more resources.

Great Printer just don't order from them if you need it to arrive as promised don't expect it to happen. Arrived a day late and now I have to send time to send it back.

Great product! Easy to install and has support to multiple languages. I just made a mistake on buying this model instead of 143LAN version. If you want to use this printer with mobile payment apps like SumUp, you must buy the LAN version of this printer.

We love this printer. We bought as an additional printer for our Square POS system so the grill line could have it's tickets printed right at the cook's station. This has saved us tons of time and sped up order times by not having to hand off tickets from the front of house to the grill line. It's performed flawlessly this entire year, yes I waited that long to review the printer. We have had no jams or break downs. VERY reliable Very easy to use and to set up! Quick and easy to change paper rolls too!

Works as advertised. No on/off switch. It instantly wakes up when I run the Square register app on our IPAD Air 2 POS with the Square stand. The printing is fast and easily readable. It is very nice when the combination of products (I.E. Square Stand, Square Register, IPAD Air 2 and this printer) works so well together.
