As advertised but ...
We got this today, so this review might be a bit premature. For those who have ever used any type of shade that is "clipped" to a light bulb, yeah .... it moves .... it can easily rotate on the bulb. I did NOT use this point to reduce the rating to 4-stars. That's just the way it is.Here's the situation. My wife got a small stained glass shade from a friend. It took a while to to find a petite lamp to install it on. Once found (ironically at a Goodwill store - best selection) , we mutually decided that a lamp harp (example lamp harp link: WESTINGHOUSE LIGHTING 70689 2Pc 8" Brz Lamp Harp was too tall thus upsetting the balance of shade / lamp. So we decided on this lamp shade bulb clip adapter. The shade is obviously heavy and we use LED bulbs. I gently bent out the two "hoops" but found they were a bit narrow for the bulb and sat a little tall. It was pretty easy to slightly increase the diameter of the "hoops" thus slightly lowering the shade and fitting the bulb better. The one unexpected BAD thing - - - we had our own screw on top and expected to discard the "screw on brass hat" that came with this unit. Bzzt! The screw diameter on this unit is much smaller than the standard lamp harp size. Rats! No mention. Minus 1-star.Attached is a photo of the final product. The stained glass has more color than the picture shows, but you'll get the idea.

Good solution for my MOGUL mid-century floor lamp
Took a chance and purchased this unit because it was so much cheaper than replacing the original pieces that were broken on my mid-century modern broken lamp. It is a floor lamp with a 3-way MOGUL bulb socket (huge base) and a shattered glass reflector shade that held up the lightweight woven shade. Anyone who has to deal with replacing an old glass reflector shade knows how hard they are to find, and to size correctly. Amazon does have several available but they are expensive ($30 and up); none are prime so you have to pay shipping ($15 and up); and it is very difficult to know if the one you're ordering will have to be returned at your own expense because the sizing specs aren't that helpful. So, not wanting to face all of that, I purchased this item instead, and it has worked out very, very well. First off, it works well with a lightweight shade--mine is burlap over paper, so it weighs very little. I wouldn't trust a glass shade or any other shade that wouldn't do well if it popped off of the light bulb. Second, it isn't made to fit on a MOGUL bulb at all, so I had to really bend it outwards, which it did well, but . . . it is kind of perched on top of the light bulb precariously. It has stayed on for days so far, but once again, my shade will do fine if it falls. Wouldn't recommend use with a MOGUL bulb unless your shade is lightweight. Should work fine on your regular sized incandescent light bulb.

Brilliant!
I was actually looking for a lamp shade when stumbling across this item. I almost feel foolish that an adapter would fit the bill so easily. Like another customer said in their review, they never realized something like this existed. It's almost silly not to realize it, but I am guilty too. Duh to me! I have a very heavy antique brass lamp that was rewired a few years ago and it had a frosted glass globe on top of it. Nice look, but regardless of the watts of the light bub, it was bright to look at directly and bothered my eyes. I have the perfect lamp shade to fix that problem, but would not work until I came across the adapter. Perfect with a capital P and could not be happier! Now I am going to go web surfing for other kinds of lamp shade adapters I might be able to use. I am still kicking myself for not looking for the correct item and should have invented this myself...LOL! A litte too late. It's worth paying the shipping to me as I would have paid alot more for another lamp shade.

Easy Way to Marry Old Lamp and New Shade Together
Overall a good solution for the situation I had. Bought a garage sale lamp--harp missing. Bought a new shade for lamp but a standard harp would have raised the shade up too high exposing the switch, bulb, etc. This gadget was the best solution because it brought the two items to just the right height. It is a little more "delicate" than it looks in the picture so wouldn't use with a large or heavy shade but for the one I purchased it well suited and holds tightly. Can't say I "love" it but it is functional and fills the need and i definitely "like" it a lot. Great product
My husband and I had just purchased a lamp and could not find the "harp" adapter at the store nor at a big box retailer, so we took to the internet for a solution. This was much more affordable than the harp pieces and was prime eligible, so we went for it. I didn't know these things even existed before. The clasp (for the bulb) feels very secure. The finial screws in tight on the lampshade and the height is perfect for our lamp/shade combination. The only complaint I have (and it's very minor) is that it arrives totally flat and it is a little difficult to bend the clamping wires apart symmetrically as they are very firmly affixed to the top. However, once it's situated, it looks fine. All in all, a great solution for our problem.

good
I a fan of Amazon. I don’t have a lot of time to write custom reviews, however I believe the review system is a big part of what Amazon offers. So, I’ll rate products using the “Star” system, this is a 5 Star product. Everything as described, easy to use, arrived on-time - I recommend this product.

'Im lit up over this
It fits easily on to the bulb. And I traded out the cap that came with it for a fancier one that I have. If I take a picture I'd just be showing off. I am really glad about the suggestions on the bottom of the listing pages. I bought a lamp shade and when it came in I found that the harp and shade did not work together. Then I remembered seeing this clip at the end of the listing , with "customers also bought this (these items) to compliment ..." whatever it is that your buying. So, I'm glad that amazon has that, because I do not think that there is a harp smaller than 6 inches. Anyway this did not cost much and works great.
