Functional and Affordable
It was packaged within a bubble-wrap sleeve in a small box ,which was within a larger envelope lined with bubble-wrap, which was within a larger box with large packets of air cushions. These extra precautions ensured that all the components remained intact even after being shipped across multiple states, on the unit that I received at least. The packaging method may have been improved after previous reviews. The micrometers for all axes were functional, and appear to adjust smoothly in every direction. This is promising because this positioning stage is far, far more affordable than comparable stages with multi-axis capabilities at the same size scale from other suppliers. Moving forward I will be testing the resolution of the adjustments (looking for any play).(The following information is for the 90mm stage option)The only difference from the product photo is the pattern of the screw holes on the top of the stage. The photo shows holes along a circular path with a larger hole in the middle, when the actual holes are in a square grid pattern (9 holes total) and the center hole is the same threading as the perimeter holes. They are all M4x0.7, with 25mm spacing, and 5mm depth. On the bottom of the unit are two rows of 6 socket-head screws, the two rows are spaced 55mm apart from each other and the center of each hole is spaced 15mm from the next. The screws are M3 and require a 2.5mm hex key to remove, the screw length is 8mm and the hole depth is 10mm.

Works, but has no instructions
The stage arrived intact with no bent parts and all controls working. The package did not include any instructions at all. There are 4 micrometer handles. These have a cross-hatched pattern where you grip. For each motion direction, there is also a motion lock control. These have a coarse linear grooving where you grip. It is necessary to loosen the motion lock control before the micrometer control moves the stage. For the rotary motion, there is an additional control perpendicular to the axis of the micrometer and motion lock controls. This has fine linear grooves to grip, and functions to disengage the micrometer from the rotary stage (to allow large manual rotation) or to engage the micrometer to make very fine rotation adjustments. This meets my needs for positioning macro photography items, and is much less expensive than more refined instruments from lab supply houses.

Solid product and good value
I was happy to find a 4-axis stage at such a decent price. It arrived well packaged. No instructions included, but I was able to figure out the controls pretty quickly. My unit's rotation stage does have a different hole patten than pictured above: a grid of 9 M4 screw holes (see photo).

Works as described, significantly cheaper than comparable stages
First stage arrived damage, but the merchant promptly replaced it with a new one.The stage performs well, with no backlash, smooth positional control, good stability, and no shortcomings that I've noticed. The price point is very good, compared to similar stages sold by lab supply web sites.

just received and it looks pretty good
reasonable performance for the cost!

Great item arrived with shipping damage due to improper/inadequate packaging.
This item is well made and solid, and would have gotten 5 stars. However, it was damaged in two areas on arrival. Had I needed all four degrees of freedom this unit should provide, I'd have had to give it 1 star/The rotation stop-screw which is 2-1/4 inches long was bent so that it can't be screwed in beyond the point where the bending occurred. Otherwise the unit's rotation works fine, and for me, the lock probably would never be used. The more serious problem was with one of the linear micrometers. Each micrometer device is clamped in a small aluminum block which clamps it in position. The micrometers extend from its block in cantilever fashion as can be seen in the product images. This leaves them susceptible to damage from a side force at the outboard end. In my case, the screws holding one of the micrometer holding block was partially ripped out of the base plate until the opposite end of the micrometer itself bumped into the side of the unit. So the affected micrometer is at a horizontal angle relative to the side of the unit instead of parallel. It's also tilted at a significant angle vertically as well. It doesn't function. Fortunate, for my application, I don't need the particular degree of freedom involved. The unit arrived packaged in a box within a box, with tight bubble wrap around the unit in the first box and also between the boxes. It would have be ok except that the cantilevered micrometer mounts (and the rotation stop screw) were not designed to take the loads they evidently experienced during shipment. This unit is solid and heavy but the micrometer mounts, though not flimsily, were not intended to take heavy side loads at their exposed ends. As packaged, the heaviest shipping loads occur at the weakest points. There are 2 easy ways to prevent this from happening:1. Pack the unit so the protruding micrometers, and screws cannot contact anything during shipment.2. Ship the main unit with the micrometers and any long projecting screws detached and packaged separately. And provide a figure showing where the items are to be installed by the customer.I have photographs documenting the damage.

The XYZ stages work fine, but the R stage does NOT rotate. Bummed!
Does not work as advertised. The Rotating stage does not rotate via control knobs. XYZ stages work fine.

Good but no instructions...
I completely disassembled to be able to access the 4 base plate screws until I discovered it wasn't nearly that complicated (see pics). Unit works great, nice and tight and smooth. Just make sure all the locking knobs are loose before you try to adjust or it won't move lol.
