Aiki-Jujutsu: Mixed Martial Art of the Samurai

Wonderfully Informative
Only a truly skilled martial artist could have assembled this vast information in such a precise manner. Having studied all of these mixed martial arts, Aiki-Jujutsu, by Cary Nemeroff, will be my constant companion.

I think this book is the inspiration for the expression "epic fail".
Wow, I can't say enough bad things about this book. The only thing related to aiki arts in the entire thing is the title. Putting aiki in front of the name of a judo technique doesn't change the nature of the technique. this book offers great color photos. Unfortunately, they display lousy technique. Not to mention the misuse of Japanese terminology is just hysterical. This book offers instruction in nothing of the genuine caliber or form of Aiki-Jujutsu. The title is shameless misrepresentation. This is just sad. Do yourself a favor and save your money.

Excellent book! With great pictures and information regarding Aiki-Jujutsu ...
Excellent book! With great pictures and information regarding Aiki-Jujutsu techniques! It builds on his earlier book "Mastering the Samurai Sword" showing the open handed skills required of a samurai. Either book would be a life achievement in the Martial Arts, combined they represent a master level view of fighting techniques.

This was extremely horrible textbook
Save your money. Do not purchase something that only shows a few jijutsu moves. This isn't a applicable martial art for sport, combat or even in any real street fighting. If you purchase this book...at your own risk and more importantly your wallet.

Don't bother.
The guy tries to give a detailed review on moves but obviously a fraud.

An Excellent book, not to be overlooked
If you want a comprehensive book with a unique and insightful perspective, then Aiki-Jujutsu: Mixed Martial Art of the Samurai is the book for you. Nemeroff, Soke covers many important topics in his text including some of the many striking, blocking and throwing techniques of the Samurai. The author further explains how they were truly the innovators and forefathers of mixed martial arts as it has evolved today. Additionally, the elaborate repertoire of beautiful descriptive photos help paint a picture of what training is like in this pragmatic martial art. Another great book from a knowledgeable instructor.

buy another better book there are many out there
i expected a lot more from a book about aiki jujutsu, plenty of throwing techniques to be shown but very little else, for example where are the strikes and joint locks and chokes and strangles not in this book thats for sure.i think the author is trying to cash in on the popularity of MMA by giveing his book the title mixed martial art of the samurai. buy another better book there are many out there.
