Jobe’s Slow Release Palm Tree and Plant Fertilizer Spikes

This was recommended to us by two local landscapers. Our palm tree loves it! It made a positive change in its health and appearance in under three weeks.

Recently planted two "Christmas palms" in an area where we had to have three large diseased trees removed. So soil isn't in the best condition. Stumps were ground but a lot of root remains below surface. Palms we bought were about about four to six feet tall-- one three trunk, one two trunk. In both cases, we used this product within two weeks of placing the trees. Both trees seem to be thriving. The second one was looking a bit shaky, but once we added these spikes, it started to come along really well. I'm a believer! Since we are not very interested or good at landscaping, also like the convenience of these spikes. I think they've helped a lot.

First let me start by saying I am a professional landscaper and have been for years. I personally have planted a ton of palm tree's and never used palm food. If they are planted right to where the palms can drain even in Virginia where I live 95% of time they will be fine if they were healthy. But I decided to test this product out at my house being I planted a couple palms that were take outs from a customers house but still looked "decent". I will say I planted two in my front yard that get the exact same amount of light during the day. I used the recommended amount of sticks in one and left the other alone. The one with the fertilizer sticks really came alive. While the other one kind of lagged behind it. Needless to say I ended up buying more I have some about 15 ft palms in my back yard that I ordered more of for. All in all I would not say they will save palms but fertilizing plants is never a bad idea. I now buy a couple packs of these and use them for every palm tree I plant. It is just a little piece of mind.

This product absolute saved my sabal palmetto after the 2021 TX freeze. It had only been installed for about 1 year and then we had the freeze and temps were in the negatives for about 1 week. The tree was not covered and it is the only tree in my front year. The existing frawns died of course. About 3 weeks after the freeze I hammered theses spike, sprinkled coffee grounds around the crown perimeter, cut the dead frawns and by mid May we started noticing the slightest bit of what looked like straw growing out of the top.

Pretty sure this helps, but no spectacular result. Easy to use. UPDATE: I had missed using this when I was supposed to. The palm leaves were very brown and the new ones were coming in without a lot of color. Really noticeable difference from the year before when I applied properly. After I reapplied this time, I noticed almost immediate results on the new leaves. Won't forget to use this again!

I was skeptical, then surprised. I said to myself before buying, "Geesh, these stakes are 2 bucks a piece. Talk about hammering money in the ground. But then, after sprinkleing 40 pounds of granular palm tree fertilizer on the ground, and waiting, and waiting, just to see my that my palm trees still had that yellow fringe along the tips of the leaves, I decided to hold my nose and give them a try anyway. I was surprised. Within a week after a good rain, the palm trees really started to green up. So, I did what any good American would do, and bought 5 more boxes.
