Capital: Volume II (Das Kapital series Book 2)

Not sure what this book is about. I bought it as a request for my son and he loved it.

After reading "Das Kapital Volume I", I had to continue reading this awesome analysis! To begin, this is NOT a read based on dogmatic views of communism like Marx's Communist Manifesto. The Capital Volumes are actually based on a more scientific basis regarding the inter workings of a capitalist economy. In this volume, Marx describes a detailed analysis of the buyer and seller and how they are to be found (within the marketplace). Unlike Capital I, this book is much shorter and easier to follow. But be warned, the terminology is quite old, so I HIGHLY suggest taking time while reading. If one is looking to understand true Marxism, then please read the whole Capital series. I found it easier to read the Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith before tackling these volumes. It will provide an easier roadmap and critique of capitalism before venturing into other realms of communist theory. Overall, five stars!

Although Marx's Capital remains a difficult read, it is essential for understanding the current economic mess, in particular the growth of unproductive speculative capital. Book 1 has all the meat of theory and analysis and the predictable self destruction of capitalism. This one can be employed as bedtime reading.

Really complete edition you can have a great understanding of the dynamics of markets and the main economic principles of modern age

If you have Adam Smith's "The Wealth of Nations" you have to have Karl Marx's "The Capital" to understand the economic discussion of "more state" vs. "less state" and also the ideology behind "class struggle."

The book's edges are damaged, and it looks used. It's also a cheap photocopy of the original.

Just what I was expecting

Great opportunities to reflect on the failures of our current "Capitalism is wonderful" and perhaps we can find something in the middle for an economic system that works. It requires an open mind and thinking. Read David harvey's books and check out his videos on YouTube.
