Christian Counseling Casebook

Arrived ahead of schedule and is just what my husband needs right now. He's seeking his Master's degree in psychology and doing his practicum at a Lutheran Family & Social Services Counseling facility. He always incorporates God into his counseling and this has some great perspectives and topics and ideas. Bringing psychology into the realm of faith-based learning is always difficult in today's society of "be careful what you say" so this book is a great tool for that.

This book covers so many areas of life that people need counseling in with real illustrations and questions to help understand how to help people that come to you for help. In my pen-pal correspondence for several year with Christian in-mates in prison, it really has helped me know how to respond to them. One of my guys has helped so many others because I ordered copies of this book and Dr. Gary R. Collins Christian Counseling book for him years ago and he is still being a blessing to so many others.I highly recommend this book. Wanda

I really liked the approach of the book, and it is very good for group discussion. However, it would have been more valuable to me if at the end the authors would have also given their recommendations in the cases, so we could actually learn from their expertise. Not so good of a resource to learn from directly, but great to provoke group discussion.

I took counseling classes in college, long ago, then went into teaching. Now I find myself about to do counseling. This book has been a very helpful review. It forces you to think through possible cases you may encounter, then in the back of the book, "Epilogue", it gives how they were actually handled by a christian counselor. It's a must have for any Christian Counselor.

Great resource for my education

I fully enjoyed this book and how Collins provides a wide range of appropriate topics for Christian Counseling with excellent discussion questions for each case study! A practical way to see how each topic can be applied to real-life situations. Highly recommended for anyone involved in ministry leadership!

A very good read used this book for my counselling course very insightful.

I like it because it dealt with real life situations.The exercises that the book gives. also that you can check the epilogue at the back later.

Goes hand in hand with the main book. Examples are relevant and helpful. must buy with the main book. enjoy!!!!!
