Great rental book!
Affordable option to rent for class is awesome! It served me well this semester. It came with some expected marks and wear. Binding has loosened, but it is completely intact and worked great!

If you are a professor: please please please don't make your students read this :(
There is hardly anything substantive in this book. Its badly written, needlessly wordy, lacks any applicable information to clinical practice, and is just plain frustrating to read. Most of the information consists of summaries of tangentially related research with lots of jargon that make it a slog to read. Do you like reading paragraph long run on sentences so interspersed with acronyms, empty buzzwords, parentheticals, links, references, quotes, and asides that they take about a dozen confused readings to fully understand? Do you want a text that sometimes reads like it was run back and forth through 5 different languages in google translate until trying to parse the intended idea leaves you sweating and nauseated? Then this book is for you. It's also interspersed with some personal grievances the author had while accessing the healthcare system. Which, while valid, start to feel less like teachable moments and a bit more like one person's endless rumination about that one time someone was rude to her for a second, so now I'm gonna write a book about it. Much like me writing 1000 pages about that time I was cut off in traffic; after page 5 it stops being about why yield signs are important and more about how I need to get over it.I had the kindle version and there are several missing pages and diagrams replaced with boxes that read "removed at request of copyright holder", which made completing some of the assignments frustrating. It seems kinda unprofessional for a text that's the basis for a graduate level class to have sections removed for copyright violation. 0/10 do not torture your students with this.

The content
The price is fair and the book received in fair condition. I am satisfied. Always love quick delivery 😀. Thank you.

This book is terrible
This is incredibly tedious to read, and my professor has created an entire class around making us answer every single question the book asks. The problem with the book is that it's one giant literature review, and no practical information or even suggestions. It includes excerpts from the author's diary chronicling her husband's death, which makes me feel bad about writing such a bad review, but even those excerpts are not helpful. They're mostly full of judgment and spite probably due to her situation at the time, not helpful for future healthcare providers.

Literature and stats are heavy, missing detail for application in practice!
Heavy discussion of literature and stats. An overview of topics in each chapter. You have to pull literature discussed to assess, intervene and evaluate actual patients-not an applied textbook.

Useless
I have never hated a textbook more than this one. It is so useless, boring, and redundant. It has tons of statistical info that is pretty much obsolete by the time you read it. The only positive thing I can say is that I like the way the chapters are organized into Impact, Interventions and Outcomes. But, honestly, I have learned nothing from this book that I didn’t already know from previous nursing classes.

Dry textbook
Dry nursing textbook. Very disorganized and disjointed. Presents a variety of nursing theories without smooth transitions. Jumped from one theory to another with little explanation, hard to follow. Had to do additional research to understand what the textbook was talking about if I needed to understand for class. Extremely difficult to read. Absolutely do not recommend.
