Breville Bamboo Cutting Board for Compact Smart Oven BOV650

I keep my toaster oven out on an open counter, in other words there is no upper cabinet above it, so as things happen there is always the possibility that something will accidentally be placed on top of the hot metal surface. If that happens to be something made of plastic you can imagine the results. I’ve always liked the idea that Breville makes a nice cutting board that not only can be stored right on top of the toaster oven where it is easily within reach but can also serve as an insulator to keep things off the hot surface.There seem to be countless instances of customers buying and using this item for the very popular mini toaster over despite the manufacturer saying it can’t be done. But they never offer a reason nor do they do the obvious which is to simply make a board that fits their slightly smaller model. So people go ahead and do it anyway.Not having any reason to break the trend I did the same and my results are just as successful as everyone else. The board fits fine, sticking over the sides very slightly but I find that an advantage because it’s easier to lift off with my hands on either side rather than front to back.This is not the best cutting board you can buy, far from it. It is made from bamboo like most other cheap cutting boards and it serves its purpose but not in the same league as those made of hardwoods like cherry, mahogany, maple, oak, and teak. You get what you pay for. The fact that it has their brand name etched into the front edge is a personal preference.This is an affordable, functional and attractive product. I like it.

This cutting board looks nice and seems well made.In my opinion, it's really just an essential piece of cabinetry for the Breville Compact Toaster Oven, absorbing and deflecting heat from rising directly onto whatever else is located above it. It also protects objects from melting that you might absentmindedly place on top of the oven while it's still hot. In fact, you can use this as a shelf and keep stuff on it all the time, which prevents scratches to the oven (or covers them up if already there).Before I knew about this heat-proof silicone footed cutting board, I was questioning the wisdom of my wife's intent to have the oven beneath our under-cabinet florescent lighting with plastic lenses. Now I'm not so worried about it.Regarding merits as an actual cutting board, I have no idea. That's not why I bought it, and we haven't had it long enough to know. It looks like it will do fine.As others have mentioned (thankfully), this will also fit the BOV450XL Mini Smart Oven. That's the model we selected and it has a lot going for it, but I was disappointed to find that Breville does't specifically make a cutting board that fits. The required modification is easy: remove the feet, drill (8) new 3/32" holes 3/8" deep and precisely 1/2" to the inside of where the original holes are, and re-mount the feet.The only downside of using this board with the Mini Oven is that it still doesn't look exactly right because the board hangs over the sides of the oven a bit. This is still better than not having one at all, but it would look a lot better if the board were a 1/2" narrower than the oven. That's why Breville needs to make a cutting board specific to each size of oven they make!

I have a Breville 850. An excellent oven, but it becomes really hot (and dangerous) on the top. So, I decidet to try something that at once could solve this problem and give something else. After a brief analysis of customer comments, I decided for this one, despite it is a little expensive.Well, after 1 month using it, I can say that it was a very good surprise. The board is so strong, very well crafted and it indeed blocks the heat. It fits perfectly to my oven and gave it a very nice look.Furthermore, it has silicone on the base, so the board is very stable and doesn't splip over the oven. Maybe the might seem not important but, indeed, a board that is not fixed may cause accidents. For this one, such problem just doesn't exist.Not cheap, but you get what you pay for ... and this board really justifies its price.

I ordered this cutting board/serving tray for my Breville Compact Smart oven after owning my toaster oven for a few months. I was reluctant at first but the top of the oven can get pretty hot and I was worried about the underside of my kitchen cabinet being affected by the heat. This board helped absorb the heat and allowed me to store items on top when the oven wasn't in use. It is also a beautiful piece of bamboo and fits well. The packaging that the shipment came in could have been improved though. Although the box it was delivered in was crushed in on one side and the 'bubble wrap' didn't surround the whole item, I was worried that the board would have been scratched during delivery but thankfully it turned out ok!

I'm so pleased with my new Breville 650 oven that I needed an embellishment for it. Not actually. I have always kept nonflammable things like ceramic tea pots on top of my toaster ovens even knowing it gets hot on top. Every spare inch in a small kitchen is used. Firstly, I thought it was ridiculous to have to buy another questionable accessory and shopped around to make my own less expensive board to use on top (Breville refers to the top as a "warming tray.) None of the boards on the market were workable to the oven size dimensions. Having gotten my Breviile board, I see why it was best to have the one designed for this oven. Besides looking nice, it's designed to fit in the ribbed recesses on top of the oven exactly. The underside is cut away with air channels (photo 1) with rubber-like layer on plastic-like feet (photo 2). It's sized to keep away from heat. If you aren't willing to spend $30, you can keep an eye on for a steal in Warehouse Deals like I did. 😊 Overall, completely happy with my purchase.Note: the board from top to feet is 1 and a quarter inches high. The board itself minus the feet is a half inch thick, suitable for table-side use. I would not recommend it for heavy duty chopping.

Justo lo que necesitaba mi horno breville para complementar, ayuda para evitar accidentes por quemadura cuando se está utilizando el horno en la parte superior ya que se calienta mucho, y se pueden colocar cosas encima.

We have placed a Breville grill on top of our stove as we like to operate the grill under our overhead fan. We are using 3 of these boards to exactly cover all of the stove top elements to protect both the underside of the grill as well as protect the elements. I was attracted by the look of the boards and the Breville name on them and took a chance the boards would fit our stove top perfectly, and they do ! The boards are great looking and of high quality and they fit. So I'm happy

This cutting board fits perfectly on what it was meant for - on top of the Breville Compact toaster oven. It's of good quality and a nice weight and size. After chopping up veggies, it's easy to pick up and slide them off directly into a bowl or pan. As an aside, I've used cutting boards for many years and have found Beeswax finish - a mixture of beeswax and mineral oil - to be far superior than only mineral oil, in keeping the wood looking just like new, odour, stain free, as well as safe for foods. That justifies the cost of this particular board for me.

Incredible space saver with a trendy wood/stainless steel look. Hardy Cutting Board is visibly at my finger tips at all times and easy to clean up and store. Love it.
