INSL-X Aqua Lock Plus 100% Acrylic Water-Based Stain Blocking Primer Sealer, White, 1 Quart

Normally I buy paints and primers locally and hadn't considered getting them online (from Amazon or anyone) as I didn't think the cans would survive shipping. I ordered this primer online because all of the local stores were sold out and I needed a quality stain blocking primer. First, let me share feedback on shipping and packaging. Inside the Amazon shipping box was a packing material and then a second box which contained the can. Around the can was cut out cardboard and held the can suspended inside the box. The can was in an airtight plastic bag that was sealed. The can itself came with a plastic lid sealer around the rim. All of that packaging must have worked because the can arrived in perfect condition with no dents or leaks. I am thinking about trying to order a gallon of primer and/or paint to see how it travels. For the primer itself, it is great stuff. Insul-X makes great primers that bond well, sand easily, and don't smell as bad as some other cheaper primers. I'll pay more for a primer that doesn't have terrible odors. I have used their Aqualock and Prime All primers which are both good for their intended purpose.

Years ago I did my kitchen cabinets in Giani Coconut White. Sadly one drawer suffered every time I pull it out and reached for a utensil. My ring rubbed off the paint under the handle. Now, the cabinets had been pressboard brown 42 yrs ago. They had been pickled, painted, multiple times, and finally Gianied, with numerous coats of sealants . I realized that removing the handle and doing a deep sanding was labor intensive. I wondered if a touch up, using Aqua Lock White would do the trick after sanding. To my great surprise it went on very easily. It leveled out with the remaining paint. I am very pleased with all the Aqua Lock products I have used. They are far superior and preferred by refinishers. Now I know why.

Used it as a primer on a newly drywalled ceiling and it covered well and sealed the surface really good. We applied paint over this primer and it spread really nice and we saved quite a bit of paint using this primer first. I does need time to cure before applying paint and it is very low odor almost unnoticeable. Great product as a primer for drywall and msg also.

This primer work just fine for the job I needed to do. I would buy this primer again. Also, it comes very well packed so there no chance of any accident at all. I was really amazed by the packaging they did.

Product applied well over PT decking, had pretty good texture and appears to be durable, however because of the texture it's impossible to keep reasonably clean on our ramp. Also the texture is not adequate for frost or icy conditions. So if you need a textured surface in a low traffic or generally clean area this would be a good choice.

Works really well. Adhesion is excellent and it provides adequate stain blocking. I’ve had flashing issues with other primers, but not this one.

Put 2 coats of primer on and had to have surgery! Within 2 weeks the primer started to peel up on my deck! Have to scape it off now and start over in many places! Doesn’t seem to adhere very well and peels easily.
