Westinghouse 6356700 Contemporary One-Light Adjustable Perforated Cylindrical Metal Shade, White Finish Mini Pendant

Been looking for a long time for pendant lights. Purchased 2 for my kitchen island. These are simple, clean yet contemporary looking. They are perfect. The dots at the bottom with the light coming through sets them apart. Great purchase.

We had two pendants in our kitchen (they came with the house) and I discovered, over time, that they had a truly demented design when it came to changing out bulbs. They took a little halogen, two-pronged bulb that I've used before, but dismantling the light and putting it back together required, seriously, about five hands. I promised the next time a bulb went out, we'd buy another pair of pendants.The second pair of pendants I got had built-in LEDs (I thought I would end my bulb-changing nightmares forever this way), but it turns out the tiny little LED drivers (I think that's the right term) were faulty, and both pendants became strobe lights—one in a couple of weeks, the other in about a year. The manufacturer was okay about sending replacement hardware, but, ironically, doing this repair work was nearly impossible with two hands on an already-hung fixture. So when the second light began to strobe, I knew it was time to start over.Our home has a little tendency toward mid-century design, and the hardware in our kitchen is brushed nickel, so I was encouraged by the design of these (and the fact that we would be back in Normal Bulb-Access Territory) and we got 'em and installed 'em.We love these lights. Sometimes I am bothered by the slightly lumpy look of exposed power cords instead of metal rods, but these just seem to disappear.I put warm LED floodlight bulbs in them, and the light they cast is terrific. The dot pattern that lights up is very pleasing. All in all, a very good purchase experience at a great price.

The cord wires are all one "clear sheathing" color and labeled at the end, so if you need to cut down the cord length, you'll need to keep track of which cord is which. Kind of annoying, but doable. Wire is aluminum, again annoying but you'll live. Installation is relatively easy. You don't have to fish the cord through he center hole of the mounting bracket like many others, thank goodness. The cord is wavy at first but straightens out over time. They don't like to hang level unless you force them to, then they stay. Good lighting factor. Attractive design. Like that it's just a regular bulb, not these ridiculous little hard to find or expensive or hard to replace bulbs that need a transformer to get to 12V. Don't have time for that.

The two lights over our kitchen island was a great match to our stainless steel appliances, only drawback is when you shorten the wires pay attention to the wiring, as it can be difficult to ID the hot from the ground wires. This is due to the clear wiring so as to not detract from the esthetics of the wire. Would definitely buy this again no regrets.

These lights actually worked for me in a hallway with 8' ceilings. They cast a perfect beam of light without lighting the ceiling up and directing light where it's needed most. The cord between the light and base adjusts perfectly to length. The quality is top notch and design is very modern. You may find the cord a little odd for connecting because of the clear color but if you look closely you can see a stripe on each wire. White for neutral, green for ground, and unmarked for hot (black). The stickers seem to fall off a lot and may confuse some people unfamiliar with the standards for wiring. Outside of that..... Excellent bang for the buck.

I would put this at 4.5 stars because the kit did not include the 8-32 x 3/4 machine screws that attach the mounting bracket to the ceiling box. The other cheap-out is the nylon set screws that hold the wire to the ceiling plate and the fixture. That might be design driven so you can't punch a hole in the wire, but it requires a small slotted screwdriver and seems like it would be very easy to strip the slot. So be gentle if you need to adjust the length.There was plenty of room to coil the excess in the ceiling plate, so I did that instead of trimming. I think for the price it's excellent and, if it lasts, I'll get more. Should last forever by using LED lamps, since the only thing that could cause this to fail would be heat

Bought for a customer (we own an electrical company) and it looks great. They love it!
