Mine doesn't** A: What is your order number? And the lid is supposed to fit on there. **Q: What age group is this item for ?!** A: Don't know but I bought it for grandchildren who were 18-months and 4 yrs at the time. They all played with it in sand and water outside. Still playing with set this summer a year later **Q: is it bpa safe?** A: can't remember. You can probably check their website. I wouldn't let me kids put it in their mouths anyway as these toys go in dirty bath water and beach, etc. **Q: Could this set be used in the kitchen to “help mom”?** A: Actually, that may be a legit use! The cups are very sturdy and I’m sure the plastics are safe as long as you don’t heat them. The bowl, spoon and whisk are great for little hands. I initially ordered a basic, off-brand sand toys set from Amazon and was very dissappointed in the thin plastic bucket and shovels. This set is the opposite--everything is very thick and high quality. The toys are interesting and fun for him to play with.
