Wave your hand over them and they turn on. Wave again to turn off. Hold your hand over them once to increase brightness, hold again to decrease brightness. Device will remember what level was set if you turn them off. Device is illuminated with a blue LED at the center of the coil, so I hope you like blue. These are simple devices, there's no way to gang them together so they all come on or go off at once. I used these as hands-free switches for undercabinet LED lighting and while you have to manually turn on each section, they work great.
