easy to change
We are repeat customers of this item. My husband carries two portable refrigerators in his big truck. This is the part that routinely wears out. It is, however; easy to change. Saves us from having to replace a hundred dollar refrigerator. Thanks Amazon for making these available.

Cheap and works, make sure you use some thermal paste.
This was a perfect replacement for a failed peltier in my wine cooler. I can't believe I'd left the cooler broken for almost 2yrs before I realized that a replacement cooler was only a few dollars. Please note that if you plan on replacing a peltier in an existing device you will need some thermal paste to ensure a solid thermal connection is made between the peltier and the heat sinks. All you need is a small amount spread thinly and evenly across the surface, an old credit card works well.Without thermal paste my cooler was only able to get down to 65 degrees (room temp 78), but once I applied the paste the cooler is now able to maintain a steady 54 degrees.

You won't be making a chiller with one of these
Decided to experiment and use one of these to make a cold air blower for my gaming console cabinet, to say the least, you'd need a large amount of these to really do some good cooling something opened air. In an enclosure it would work great. I wired it to a computer power supply to supply the required wattage. It gets cold, takes a bit but it does, with the fan set to a lower speed it even puts out a nice cold air flow a few degrees cooler than the air temperature surrounding it, but again this would function better with direct contact with whatever your attempting to cool or in an insulated enclosure.

Bought a few. They all still work, and for reasonable price.
Peltier junctions are just cool in general, but I've tortured these and they seem to take it without a problem. Ran for 24 hours straight pumping heat out of a stainless bowl filled with water into a heatsing/fan combo. Kept reasonably cool by the heatsink I added, it took the power without a hitch. If anyone asks me to, I'll run one without a heatsink on 12v and report the time of death.Like all peltier junctions, this is very inefficient for heat transfer, but it can be a good way to retrieve energy from heat disparity without using any moving parts.

Beware - Only use with appropriate heat sinks attached!
Probably works fine. But I'd like to stress something I didn't realize until it was too late. Don't hook this up to a power source to "test" it - without attaching the necessary heat sinks. It will quickly (within a couple of seconds) overheat and the unit will be damaged and stop working. Ask me how I know. Oh well - at least it was cheap.

Replaced the non functioning one in my Wine Enthusiast Cooler ...
Replaced the non functioning one in my Wine Enthusiast Cooler with this new one and the Wine cooler is cooling properly maintaining a constant 55 deg. Fahrenheit. No issues to report after 2 weeks.

Inexpensive replacement part for beverage cooler
Fixed my Avanti Beverage Cooler with this inexpensive part. Saved me over $100 that it would have cost to replace. Hopefully it lasts longer than the original part which didn't even make it to 2 years.

I guess that you should buy 2 just in case.
I bought one, but that one module under-performed, I though it was failure of contact, I tried everything polish aluminum block, use much more expensive thermal, but in the end, it was just that, bad but not completely dead. I though these thing were similar to electric resistance that will either work or not work at all. I bough another set, changed immediately, and I was able to drop another 14 degrees, which was what I was expecting on the first place (52 Fahrenheit degrees.
