Just what I needed, a portable ironing mat. Nice quality, and the mat was easy to store

It is easy for storage without clunky iron board but I don't do a lot of ironing. When I use the iron pad I found steam under mat so I folded the mat twice or put bath towel under for steam.

I'm constantly ironing while sewing and quilting and this mat is a life saver! I spread it out on our kitchen island and have all the room I need for pressing pattern pieces, fabric, and quilt blocks. It really speeds ironing up when I don't have to confine myself to the small width of an ironing board. The mat has some fold creases in it from shipping, but I've used it four times on pattern tissue, cotton, and flannel and none of them has picked up the fold marks. My island top is granite, and I would avoid using this on wood or other surfaces that might be damaged from exposure to water, just in case some seeps through while using steam or spray for a long time.

The ironing mat is well made and gives a nice soft surface for ironing. One side has no stitching and the other side has diagonal lines sewn in both directions, making a diamond pattern it has a finished edge so no filling is showing. The material is that silver/grey heat resistant material which is very sturdy. It looks nice on laying on my table. It is also water resistant. Some water from my iron spilled out on to it and it wiped right up. The silicone pad that came with the pad to set the hot iron on is a fantastic accessory! I never knew how much I needed that, now I wouldn't want to be without it. The hot iron can be set to the side, off the ironing pad, staying out of the way. All in all this was a great purchase and it was one of the less expensive but so worth it. I'm so very glad I chose this one!

Another Buy for a friend, and he loves it. It makes ironing with a board so much easier. Its portable and can be carried along anywhere.

Using this for the first time with a steam iron today to iron curtains. I lifted up the mat because it felt a little damp. The steam had gone through the mat to the table top and the paint was bubbling. It's a craft table that's pretty beat up. Had it been something nicer, I would have been really upset. I will come back if I remember if the towel doesn't stop this, but I would take this as a big caution and/or don't use high steam. I have it on max because I am ironing white cotton. Otherwise, this is a great way to iron curtains if you have a big table.

I love this set, it was a great deal and it's nice to have the extra pieces like the iron mat and the ironing protector. This is really handy to use because I have a lot of large things like curtains to iron so this is great. I don't have an ironing board and don't need one with this. It takes up a lot less space than an ironing board and works great on my kitchen island !
