Glad I bought it; easy to use and store
Wanted to buy it as a good ft to my sister in law but I decided to keep it. It’s so compact I can easily find a storage for it when not in use. It does what it supposed to do. I’m happy I bought it.

Pie Weights
Wonderful product. I don't bake often but these are a lot handier than anything else I have tried while blind baking a crust. I bought 2 sets of these weightsand am very pleased with them. They are very easy to store, they take up very little space. 10 feet is fairly long so I usually drape them over my shoulder as I feed them into the crust. Be sure to put them to the outer edge of the crust where it turns up the side. If the nice tight circle in the photo is too anal for you arrange them any way you want. They leave some weird little impressions in the crust after it is baked but unless you are serving an empty pie crust who is ever going to know.

Works just like it should!
I looked at a few different options when I was shopping for pie weights. I picked these because I thought the string would make them easier to remove when the pie is finished. I was right! It's a little bit "fiddly" to place them in the pie plate with parchment paper but it doesn't have to be perfect. Now to put them someplace where I can find them again.

Helpful but not perfect
I was excited to use this. I figured 10 feet would be enough to fill any pie shell and keep it in place. However, the 10 foot chain barely coves the bottom of the pie and does nothing for the sides (which like to slide, sadly, and that's almost as important to me as not bubbling on the bottom). I'll keep these, and use them, but I"ll likely just go back to using uncooked beans--better weight, easier to distribute.

So much easier than beans!
I've been making pies for 40+ years without these beaded pie weights BUT would definitely have considered these a MUST HAVE ITEM, had I known that anything like this existed. I've always thought baking blind shells was a pain...putting down the parchment, filling the shell with rice or beans, pouring the hot beans or rice back into a container...so I'd avoid the process, if possible, and loose pie weights...seemed to be just one more bag of little loose things to clean and keep together in my kitchen drawer...hardly worth it...BUT this chain is SUPER! No little pieces to keep together, fits any size pie tin, easy to clean, not a hassle to remove from the shell after baking and they work perfectly!

These work great
They work very well. The only drawback to me is that I could have used another 10-12 inches to really cover the pie shell. I had to supplement with some loose weights.

It definitely works better (though is not as cute as) than the ceramic ...
Got for mom, she uses it and has no complaints. It definitely works better (though is not as cute as) than the ceramic bean style ones as the chain can be more easily placed, moved, and removed.

perfect for either custards or meat pies
I have used similar pie weights for baking blanks for perhaps 10 years. The resulting pastry is crispy and golden, perfect for either custards or meat pies. Instructions should be included for use. The shell should be fitted into the baking pan and the edge crimped or finished. A square of parchment paper placed over the pastry before the pastry weights coiled on top. If weights are placed directly on pastry, they will sink into the pastry during baking resulting in a less than perfect result.
