Does not disappoint!
I purchased this online, I am a hair color junkie and I thought it was interesting that Loreal had a black blue hair dye! My starting color was a level 8/9 brassy mustard blonde. I wanted to see how well this would turn out on my overbleached overprocessed hair without a color filler. Guess what? After 20 minutes, my hair went from dirty mustard blonde to a sleek elegant black with blue undertones! In certain lighting and natural sunlight, you can see a rich deep navy blue in the base of the color. Its a nice balance for anyone who wants a natural and unnatural hue all at once!

Good hair dye (read review )
Overall I really like this product. As for giving me the color that's on the box, I'd give it 5 stars it was a very nice dark brown that was able to cover my reddish/orange left in my hair from a previous dye I had awhile ago and I only had to use one box, although I did order two and I'd recommend getting two if you have really long or thick hair, my hair is pretty long but it's on the thinner side. However the smell is pretty strong , it has a chemical smell with a hint of fragrance at first it bothered me I'd have to keep walking away from where I was dying my hair so I could get some fresh air but after a little while it didn't bother me anymore. Also the dye itself isn't very thick it's a little runny so be careful because I got alot on the floor, I'd also be careful with it getting all over your skin because it does stain the skin pretty good some hair dye I can just wipe right off afterwards but this one didn't come off so easily. So with all that being said I do like the dye and my hair came out smooth and shiny and I would definitely order again.

Similar to being a Strawberry Blonde.
Love this color. Always easy to apply myself.

Loreal Pref 8RG is Beautiful, but fails to cover grey / white hair
Loreal Preference 8RG rose-gold is a beautiful color, not brassy, not orange, not pink, but a soft warm and natural look. The "rose" component is mild, and could be "beefed up a bit" for my tastes. Actually my hair processed a lighter color than shown, possibly because I have about 25% grey, along with "dishwater" deep mousie blonde natural hair. I am giving this 8RG rose gold color 5 stars for the color proposed, WITHOUT HAVING GREY HAIR. Sadly, my white / grey hair, at the roots, and along the hairline by my face REMAINS GREY AND WHITE (for the last (3) three months of repeated extended times worth of coloring, Loreal's claim for 100% grey coverage is a falsehood, for me. Also, it was a falsehood for my mother, after multiple attempts with various Loreal Preference colors, and having tried leaving it on for a torturous full 45-50 extended minuties to cover grey hair, as directed.. I desired this color so much, I order several month's supply. Now, in search of a grey hair remedy, today I am ordering (via Amazon.com) the "Ardell's" grey drop additive for all haircoloring. I really hope it works, or I will be discontinuing Loreal haircoloring products. I will still use Loreal's hairspray, with the finest sprayer. Also, the ammonia fumes, from Loreal's haircoloring, is SO overpowering, it surely cannot be good to breath it, burning my eyes, nasal and respiratory track. So, I am considering changing to Nutriese Garnieir products, without the ammonia fumes, and better grey coverage. (But, Nutriese does not have any Medium Rose Gold color,......yet). (Maybe, I'll try experimenting in mixing a touch of red with Nutriese's medium golden blonde. (?)

Great Color! Good Quality! Really Messy!
I have a LOT of hair, so I used 2 boxes. I don’t usually use gel on my hair (I prefer foam: less messy) & made quite the mess working this product through my hair. Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with my results! I just wish it wasn’t as messy 😆 Photo order: Before - After - What’s in the box (mine had black gloves in the instruction packet)

Sassy, not brassy, hair color that suits my personality to a T!
14 years. That's how long I've been coloring my naturally brunette hair at home. I've tried several brands and shades and sometimes find that a darker shade suits my mood. But this shade is my favorite. It's intense but not in a cosplay kind of way. It's bold but not like I'm gonna star in a music video. It's hot, but not like porno hot. Kit is easy peasy and the mixture stays in place without running down my face and neck. Tends to last for 4-6 weeks, depending on hair growth and how annoyed I get with my roots. Red fades the fastest, so I try to wash my hair only every other day and use dry shampoo on the days that I don't wash. The deep conditioner is great, and I use it once a week. Lasts for 4-5 weeks. Beats wasting money at a salon hands down!

Gorgeous color on the package - Didnt work for me
I was a natural dark blonde, however because I have white/grey in block sections (mostly around my face) instead of salt and pepper type distribution - I have to dye my hair every month to hide the darker regrowth and tone in the white - usually with Naturtint ammonia free colors (either Wheatgerm blonde 8N or Light Ash blonde 8A work well on my hair ) However I fancied a change to go warmer - and this color looked gorgeous but on my hair was a mixed color disaster. My darker ungreyed hair looked great overall - similar to the image - while the whiter/greyed sections framing my face - turned out a pale rose pink!!!! I went to work and compliments were zero - I got a 'wow you've got pink hair' 'it looks great' a couple of times. But it didnt...I've tried over dying the light pink with Naturtint 8N to try and look less rose - which has worked but have now added another 'tone' to compete with the rest. I love the idea of this color but unless you have predominantly even coloured hair - be wary of this color esp on lighter/whiter blondes. This has been quite a learning curve - I guess I'll just have to stick with what works. One thing I couldnt help but notice was the ammonia in this Loreal product - I had to leave the bathroom soon after applying because the fumes were so strong/toxic in a confined space. Naturtint has zero by comparison.

Can't say this made a very visible difference. I have very dark brown, completely untreated hair and I got a very, very subtle blue tint. More subtle than I'd hoped for and it soon wore off. It did make my hair soft, shiny and somewhat darker for a couple of weeks. I just don't think it was quite worth the money or effort. The tube of conditioner that comes with it is great, though.

It's very expensive but the colour is wonderful. Can't find it anywhere else in Ontario.Canada. When amazon supplies get low, the price goes through the roof.
