It fits my straws. It comes apart at the bottom too for easy cleaning. The top twists shut for good security. Things I don't like are that it makes a loud high pitched squealing metal on metal noise whenever you open or close it. It hurts my ears and my coworkers have commented on how annoying the noise is.
