In less than a minute I had to leave the room because the ozone was so strong. I closed the door. Sitting in bed 10 feet away I smelled ozone in less than 2 minutes. Let it go for the 5 min which is max for this unit. Made great tasting ozone water. The not-so-good: Read the package insert! (1) Max 20 minutes of ozone then rest for an hour. NOT for continuous use. (2) Bubbler must be placed in no more than 4 inches of water. More than that can damage unit (they include internal replacement hoses and directions for repair). (3) Unit MUST be placed well above the bubbler (picture on desertcart shows it wall-mounted). Since the output hose comes out the bottom of the unit you can't just stand the unit up and put the bubbler into water. It must be placed on top of something (I used the box it came in). Some web sites on ozonated water say that 5 min of ozonation is useless; they say more like 30 min. If you believe that then you need another (more expensive) unit. Putting it up high is inconvenient for me but maybe not for you. I'd rather put the bubbler at the bottom of the glass or bottle so the ozone will bubble up throughout the container but the 4 inch limit does not allow that. I'm giving it 5 stars for now since it's working fine out of the box. If the lamp lights, your Ozone unit is defective and must be repaired or replaced. I paid over $1,000 to have a really nice ozone generator built in under my kitchen sink. It is big enough to handle the job of keeping a large hot tub or swimming pool safe. I couldn't take it with me when I recently moved, and found this little guy on Amazon. I bought it while visiting my family in the States, and it is light enough to easily pack in your suitcase. I've been using it in my kitchen to safely disinfect my foods, and it works great. It is not attached to my plumbing like my other one, so I drop the tube with ceramic ball into my pan of water (not over 4 inches under) and let it do the job. What they don't tell you is that the water changes molecularly, and stays ozonated for 10 to 15 minutes, so wash your counters or soak your utensils in the water after you finish the 15 minute treatment with the produce. If you have eaten something that causes your stomach to churn, drink this water while it's ozone, and it will kill the bacteria in your stomach immediately! I highly recommend using something like this in every home. This one is just so affordable that it amazes me. I read all the reviews, so I don't know if it is a good idea to use it for oil. But the concept is interesting, and the instructions say you can do it. This unit can be used to kill the germs in the air of a room too. Imagine, after having a cold, or the flu, moving the person out and bringing this in to freshen things up! I can't do that with the $1,000 one attached to my plumbing in the house I built.
