HWAYO250GB 250G Internal HDD Hard Drive Disk Disc for XBox360 Slim Xbox360 E Games

I ordered from this company through Amazon last Saturday morning, and the HD was delivered to my door SUNDAY early afternoon. I recently purchased last years' Xbox 360 4gb slim console only to find that many of the newest games now need a larger HD. I didn't want to spend the high dollar Microsoft wanted for their proprietary HD, so I took a chance with the aftermarket and I am glad I did and that I found this one. It works perfectly, snapping right in. I saved 75% over Microsoft and I also save $30 if I had purchased the 250GB Xbox console over the 4gb model! Anyway, I am not a techie so I don't know the particulars on the electronic going into these things, only that it worked. I also spend the two bucks extra for the 2 year warranty. It is always nice to find a really great deal, and this was one of them.

Got this for a used Xbox 360 Slim Model E that I purchased recently off of Ebay, which came without a hard drive. The Xbox 360 works fine with NO hard drive, but you can't apply any Xbox updates b/c without a hard drive, there's no place for the system to store the update while it's being applied. I tried a 32GB external USB thumb drive, but it wouldn't accept it as a system storage device.In any case, this drive worked GREAT right out of the box. No formatting or anything necessary. I just slid it in the slot and it locked in position and was instantly using it to apply all outstanding updates as well as now I can store media and/or game files on it.

THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL HARD DRIVE!I say that first and foremost because I assume some people looking at this hard drive are wanting it not only for more 360 game storage but for backwards compatibility with original titles. This HDD will NOT work with original titles, you will need to go to Wal-Mart's or Microsoft's website to find official hard drives that will be backwards compatible. If you purchase this hard drive expecting to be able to play original titles, you will become very disappointed when seeing the "The game failed to start. Try downloading the game again. For more help, please go to xbox.com/support." error message, meaning it's not official.Otherwise, the hard drive is great. It installed fine, runs fine and I've had no issues thus far, I just give it four stars simply because it's not official. Keep in mind, though. because it needs some space to run properly, you will only get ~230 GB of space, not the full 250. Even so, this should be plenty of space for the casual gamers who need more space for some larger 360 titles. If you are a gamer who is consistently purchases high-end games and installs all of them on your system, I'd recommend getting the 320 GB model. I haven't hit the point where I need to start using my hard drive, as I still have ~80 MB of space left on my Xbox's internal hard drive, (which I'm using the rest for Skyrim until that tops off), but I'll probably start saving on it once I get into Bioshock.Again, just so people here are aware, this is NOT an official hard drive from Microsoft, so original Xbox titles will NOT play on it. I'm saying this now and with as much stress and emphasis as possible so unaware buyers don't get this and get pissed off because it's not what they thought it was. I talked with a Microsoft "ambassador" about the issue I was having, and he claimed that any games that are backwards compatible have a separate version, something like DC I think, and those work on the 360, which is bulls***. If you have an official hard drive, you can simply put the original title into your 360 and voila. No separate version s*** required.Hopefully those who read these reviews come across this and understand what this product really is. If you don't/didn't have an original Xbox, then you've got nothing to worry about but a great external HDD for your 360. Thanks for taking the time to read this review, for those who do!

We purchased this product 3 different times online! The product works great u just plug it in and ready to go! Shipping was fast and now my kids can all play there Xbox 360 with plenty of memory! And the price is amazing compared to everywhere we have looked!

Bought a xbox360 E on eBay with no hard drive. This works great.

I bought this hard drive back in October because I decided I'd turn the ol 360 into a game room box for the kids. Arrived looking good. Then unfortunately I ended up taking a very extended stay in the hospital and in and out over the last few months...long story short, came back home and finally got it all unboxed installed the drive and...nothing. Out of the box the hard drive is acknowledged physically by the system but is unformatted...ok...go to format it...put in the serial and all that...the drive won't format. So I paid 25 bucks for a paperweight and I can't return it because of unforeseen circumstances. I hate to leave negative feedback on a product but when something arrives DOA...Well you deserve to know it's possibly gonna happen to you. IF the seller would be willing to send me a new unit with a return label for the defective one I would be happy to update my review and make sure to praise their customer service. Hopefully customer service reads this and makes things right because I'd rather not have to buy another one elsewhere.

I decided to go with this E-rainbow HDD for the Xbox 360 rather than the Microsoft branded one because of the cost difference. I am not disappointed with that decision at all!. It was quick and easy to install and has been working fine ever since.

Amazing for the price. My xbox reads and uses the HDD no problem without any issues.The only thing that holds this back from a perfect 5/5 score is that because it's not official Microsoft, it doesn't come with the data on the hard drive that allows the Xbox 360 to be backwards compatible with OG Xbox games. I'm not sure if you can format it yourself and add that patch to get it to work as I have not tried it but it works perfectly fine for standard Xbox 360 needs. Game installation to HDD works fine too.
