Great Taste
We use this in place of tomato paste for some recipes due to a food allergy. It tastes great in BBQ sauce, beef stew, sweet and sour sauce, etc. It has become a staple in our house.

Great for No-mato Sauce for AIP diet and south asian cuisine
Worked super well for my No-mato sauce. It’s not too watery and not too thick. Decent consistency for cooking. and keeps unopened for a long time in the pantry. Unfortunately, i could not use all of mine and it went bad, but it’s good quality sauce just very sour so add sugar to it. Deep brown colour good seal on the jar and it was good to buy two jars i just didn’t need them. You don’t need a lot so if you really enjoy cooking with tamarind i would say it’s for big fans of umami and south asian cuisine. Good price for two jars if you really cook with tamarind often. It’s just organic tamarind and water no extra junk like some brands. I’d buy again if i had the use for it but now i can eat tomatoes sometimes again:) was sick and used to be intolerant to them but now i can eat them again, was really useful when i couldn’t eat tomatoes anymore. Jars came sealed and intact and very safely packed.

Convenient
This tamarind paste seems good quality and it’s convenient to use. But, if you have time, I suggest ordering tamarind pulp and making your own paste instead. It’s not that much work and the flavor is much better from the pulp. Also, if you are making Thai or Filipino food, keep in mind that this is an Indian Tamarind Paste, so it’s much more concentrated. But, you can dilute it a bit with water as needed.

EXCELLENT!!!
I love this tamarind paste! I can't get any at my local grocery store so checked on Amazon. This is a good price for a great product, plus it's on Subscribe and Save so I'll never be without tamarind paste ever again! It's similar to the brand with the red label you can get at like Whole Foods etc., but I live too far away from one of those to bother with that other stuff. Try this, it's delicious! I also bought this company's hing (asoefetida), and it's very fragrant and amazing. So, overall I'm impressed with this brand so far and delighted I can get such high quality Indian ingredients on Amazon. Want a recipe for a quick tamarind chutney? Here you go: 2 tablespoons tamarind paste 2 tablespoons sugar (you might want to use simple syrup depending on the sugar, to cut down on any graininess. to make simple syrup just combine 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar in a pot, bring to a boil and wait a few seconds until it turns clear so all the sugar is dissolved. let cool then use 2 tablespoons and the rest for cocktails!) 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt (more if you wish upon tasting it) 1/4 teaspoon ground roasted cumin seeds (yes, roast and grind them yourself) Mix these ingredients together and let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour! The flavor develops into something magical! Now serve with any Indian food you like, I made dosas and potato filling, but also chickpea crepes with these on the side, we also had idlees with this chutney, and then put it on regular American pancakes! It's SO good, and the tamarind paste is the star. I love the packaging too, a box inside a box, very safe for the jar and cute for me!

In no way is this a paste
Runny but has Perfect balance of sweet and tart. It is a good value. A little goes a long way. I’d buy it again.

Don't always trust the"prime" logo.
I have bought this brand of tamarind paste before and it is a very good product. The quality and taste seems very good. The problem with the last purchase was, even though it was through prime, it is not refundable or returnable. One of the jars came uncapped during shipping and created a huge mess. I found another vendor that will stand behind their shipping procedure.

Put this on everything
Want that mouth-puckering tamarind tang without having to process and deal with actual tamarind pods and pits? This is worth every penny.
