Surprisingly good!
I was surprised at how engaging the book was even though it was written for a young adult audience. It didn't read the way many YA novels do.I am disappointed to hear that scholastics has decided not to publish the 3rd book. Hopefully, they will change their mind and we will find out what happens next.

Good book, but mnay errors, and lack of fact checking.
Maybe it is the Halo fan in me, or that I am a pessimist, but I feel this books needs to be "critiqued" so to speak. The story itself gets four stars, but, the author's severe lack of proof reading and fact checking, deserves 2 stars. The book has numerous errors. For example: early in the book, it is stated that the events of the previous book (Halo: Battle Born) take place three (3) months before this one, with the four heroes in training for ten (10) weeks. Then one of the heroes says that the events of Battle Born took place one (1) month before. Then, about a page or two latter says that it takes place three months ago. Also, it is mentioned that the war with the Covenant has been going on for 25 years, which, with the readily available knowledge of the Halo timeline, it is know that the war started in 2525, would mean this book takes place in the year 2550. But, again, it has been known, and has been since the release of Halo 5: Guardians (in 2015) that Meridian (the planet the book takes place on), was first attacked by the Covenant in 2548. Another character says that "the invasion started six (6) months ago, I was there.", meaning that the book could not take place in 2550. I should point out that it is also stated that another character says that the invasion was kept secret, but how would you keep an alien invasion secret for two whole years? Lastly, the Spartan in this book. Again, with the readily available knowledge of Halo, he would way over a thousand (1000) pounds in his armor. So how does he sit in a wooden chairs or any other chair for that matter? It seems to me that the author needs to do at least some research on the series before writing about it, but other than that the book was good.

For teen age halo fans only
If you like the major premise that 4 teenagers save their planet. Font was so light and fine it was almost unreadable. Entertaining read at best.

Great book, looking forward to the next iteration
This is a good series, written a little differently than most of the halo novella and I like it. A fresh portrayel of the halo universe seen through younger eyes.

A lot of the same narrative.
Didn't care for the character reference for each chapter. But all said ah good read and a good follow up to the first book.

A Good Halo Tie-in Focused on a Younger Audience
Halo: Meridian Divide is the second Young Adult Halo book, a direct sequel to the first one, Battle Born. We get to see the adventures of Colony kids Evie, Dorian, Saskia, and Victor continue, with Spartan Owen-B096 joining them again as well. The resourceful teens previously managed to evacuate their city during a Covenant invasion and escaped the moon they called home. Now they must return and attempt to thwart the Covenant's continued search for Forerunner relics. We get to see the four main characters grow and evolve as they are once again put to the test. Whereas in the first book, they're fighting for the survival of their family and friends, the stakes are raised this time around. The teens need to learn to broaden their perspective and see the bigger picture, and here they discover if they have what it takes to help all of humanity.I enjoyed the story and the jump back into the Halo universe, learning a little more about various things we've seen before. From a plot perspective, I sometimes felt like they were playing things a little too safe and too predictable. There were some twists, and one at the end that definitely surprised me, but there were other parts that felt like they were just setting things up for more stories in the future in a very obvious way.Overall, Meridian Divide is a fun dip back into the universe of Halo. If you haven't already, definitely check out Battle Born book 1 first - if you like that one, give this a read too. It'll make the wait until Halo 6 Infinite just a little bit shorter.

Really wished the 3rd book was not cancelled
The first half of the book felt forced to me and reading it I was like “better that the trilogy didn’t close, already like this seems stretched too much”. It was 3 stars at that point. The second half instead I really liked it, and the ending of the book left me eager to read more. It was 4 stars. That’s why the final 4 stars. The book overall was never really boring, and it had its peaks of action and emotion. It might be that I’m biased since I love the mystery behind Forerunners that lives before Halo 4. I really wished the trilogy would’ve been completed; I would’ve liked to see the four of them in a final adventure.

Bueno.
